First, by reboot do you mean reload the entire operating system, ie Windows, so that the computer is similar to when you first bought it? Second, what brand of computer is it, HP, Dell, or something else?

Hello

OK, firstly you will need to specify as to which operating system you would like to install, windows XP, Vista, Windows7?

Now, you will also need to have the install disc of the operating system you want to install.
Also, you will need to backup all the data you would like to keep.

If you have the above discs, let me know so i can explain the rest of the procedure.

Kind regards
Andrea

Try to reboot your computer and push F10 or F12 for boot menu. When you enter the boot menu find and select hard drive or C/: in the menu and continue to start the computer. If that doesn't work, your hard drive may be non-functional. I hope that helps.

I was restoring my computer. and the power went off. now its says i need to install dbghelp.dll how do i do this

Place the CD-Rom back in the drive and reboot the computer. You can just complete a new reinstall.
If, when starting the computer, it does not load Windows from the CD you will need to go into the BIOS and change the boot settings to make the CD-Rom a higher level than the hard drive.
When the computer reboots, look in the bottom of the screen and you should see Push "DEL" or "F12" to enter setup. Push whichever button and enter the setup. Locate the "Boot Order" option and move the CD-Rom up above the Hard Drive. Restart the computer and go into the installation.

AS YOU ON THE SYSTEM AND EVEN BEFORE WINDOWS STARTS KEEP PRESSING THE F8 KEY CONTINUEOUSLY. A MENU WILL APPEAR. SELECT SAFE MODE AND ENTER. WINDOWS WILL LOAD IN SAFE MODE. THIS WILL SOLVE SOME OF YOUR PROBLEMS. NOW RESTART THE SYSTEM IN NORMAL MODE.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK SELECT "LOAD WINDOWS WITH LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION " AND THEN RESTART. THIS WILL SURELY SORT OUT YOUR PROBLEM.

PLS REPLY OR COMMENT. THANKS

Hi I am trying to reboot dads computer I have rebooted my laptop once I know what I am doing... But I dont have a acer I have something else.. so I was wondering when I put the pc on it says reboot...

Hi

When you say "reboot" do you mean restart? Is the Computer not restarting(rebotting) properly? If you just want to boot it into safe mode then you press F8 to get to safe mode.

If you mean you want to re-install windows or need to boot from CD/DVD, then you can press F12 as you mentioned and then pick boot from cd/dvd.

If you want to use the recovery partition that is on the hardrive then you need to press F10 or F11 when you switch the computer on and this will take you to recovery disk. (REMEMBER TO FIRST BACK UP YOU DATA BEFORE DOING THIS)

I hope one of these help, if not give me more information on what you plan to do or what is wrong with your PC

Toshiba laptop l305d won't reboot to factory default

I never heard of holding the 0 key, but have you tried hitting F10 or F12? Normally when you first boot the computer you will see down in the bottom of the screen or on the top corner to press a certain key for system recovery and a certain key for entering setup, etc. It will probably be one of the function keys like F10 or F12, but I believe I have used F2 on a few. Easiest way is to check what your computer says when you first boot it.
