Question about Saeco Vienna SuperAutomatica Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Having a problem with the mix. In the disposed grind container I am getting a lot of water mixed in with the grinds. Tried to clean screen and a glass bead fell out. I am assuming this came out of the water spout where the spring is located?

The glass bead is part of the pressure system. It goes under the long tapered spring. The bead goes in first, then the small end of the spring, then the Oring goes around the spring on the plastic part of the head. Then the manifold goes on with the L shaped tube going towards the handle side. Hold down the manifold when you puty the screws in.
water in the dredge drawer is a sign of a coarse grind. The finer the grind the less water in the dredge drawer. Don't go too fine or you will be cleaning the brew head a lot.

Saeco incanto water doesnt cycle

can you hear the unit working and the pump activating in the unit if you can most of the time units get clogs in the nozzle heads if you use a pin or needle to clean out the nozzle head it will restore the water flow so that the water is able to come back out the nozzle. This is mostly due to when people use the finest setting to grind the bean and dont realize that coffee beans contain oil and what happens when you mix oil and water and very small grind it forms clogs in small areas if you are not hearing the pump run then you most likely are not supplying the unit with the proper amount of power to run the pump. If you have any further questions message me back.
Thank you

Mortar and Pestle to make Pesto

Many have chosen to be lazy and try to make pesto with a food processor. However it is widely known that the best way to make pesto is by using a mortar and pestle.
Here is an Italian recipe for the traditional Pesto Genovese:

Ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
a pinch of kosher salt
100 ml of extravergin olive oil
50 gr of basil leaves
30 gr of grated pecorino cheese
1 tbs of pine nuts
70 gr of grated parmesan

Instructions:
First of all basil leaves should not be washed, rather cleaned with a soft cloth.
Take the peeled garlic cloves and put them in the mortar with a bit of kosher salt. Start grinding.
When the garlic will look creamy add the basil leaves with a pinch of kosher salt and grind.
The grinding should be done towards the walls of the mortar, turning the pestle right and left and the mortar the opposite way.
Continue until the leaves will release a bright liquid, then add the pine nuts and keep grinding.
Add the cheeses a bit at a time, mixing all the time.
Last add the oil, slowly, in a thin line, while mixing.
Mix well until all is one cream.
All the grinding and mixing should be done exclusively in a marble mortar and using a wooden pestle. No metal should be involved.

DISPOSAL HUMS BUT CANT FIND RESET BUTTON ON WHITMAN

The problem is not that you tripped the circuit breaker. Problem is that your disposer is jammed.
Over time, food particles may accumulate in the grind chamber and baffle. Here's what to do:
1. Place stopper in sink opening and fill sink halfway with warm water.
2. Mix 1/4 cup baking soda with water. Turn disposer on and remove stopper from sink at same time to wash away loose particles.
If that doesn't help, you have to release the disposer jam.
1. Turn off disposer and water.
2. insert one end of self-service wrenchette into center hole on bottom of disposer. (It's a funny looking slightly "S" curved tool.)
3. Reach into disposer with tongs and remove object(s). Allow disposer motor to cool for 3 - 5 minutes, then lightly push red reset button on disposer bottom. (It maybe indented so almost unoticeable.) If motor remains inoperative, check service panel for tripped circuit breaker or blown fuses.

How to change coolant

The best way for a change is at a lube shop.
At home, you can drain, capture all fluid, dispose of old fluid correctly, and you can drain most through a carefully removed lower rad hose.

The lube shop hooks up fill and drain hoses to your system, you run the car (and heater!!), and they pump in new coolant and keep doing so until the fluid exiting is clean.

Antifreeze kills animals and they are attracted to the fluid. It must be contained and disposed of properly.

What you put in your coolign system needs to be near a quart per cylinder, and water. the mix details comes from how cold it gets where you live, plus some spare...do the mix with water that acheives that. Straight coolant doesn't work.

My coffee filter for my Keurig, seems to overflow. Making coffee is fine with the pods, but not the filter with which you can use your own coffee... I have tried different types of grinds (ex. fine,...

I have had this same problem when all of some of the coffee is ground too fine. It needs to be the correct particle size and if it is too fine, it will clog the screen and either overflow or not flow at all. Look at the ground coffee you use and check to see if it is uniform size or there are a lot of very fine grounds mixed with the coarser sizing. Try asking a coffee shop to grind you some coffee specifically for your Keurig cassettes. Most pre-grounds drip coffees are too coarse and many grinders in the stores where you grind your own whole beans do not produce a uniform size. I have an OEM Keurig cassettee and two generic cassettes and the screens have different pore sizes, with the Keurig being finer.

2003 Toyota Echo heat not working. Fan, but no heat.

There is a valve on one of the heater hoses that allows heated water to flow through the heater core when you select heat. With heat selected and car warmed up check to see if both of the hoses feel warm. If not then water is not flowing through heater core and valve may need replaced or heater core is stopped up.

Grind and brew..Grinder will not release and pop out

I have been told that placing vegetable shortening on the bottom of the grinder can help to reduce this problem. I have tried 3 in 1 oil, with mixed results.
