Frigidaire icemaker not working

Hello Guest,
Thank you for your posted inquiry. Typically when an ice maker does not function properly there are a few things you can check before contacting a professional. First, I would check to see if your water dispenser is correctly operating. Next, check when the last time you changed the water filter was. This could clog some of the water lines and forced air in this tubing which can create problems. Finally I would check the temperature in the freezer compartment. Is it higher than normal? Do you notice anything thawing out or melting perhaps? This indicates the temperature is rising. When the temperature rises the ice maker will not operate properly at all and shut itself down for safety reasons. You can always look to see if your ice maker has a shut off arm or switch. Reset the ice maker if it does and wait up to 24 hours for more ice to be produced.
Otherwise, if nothing proves to be successful I would absolutely contact a professional for a full diagnosis on the unit. Hope this helps!

Our ice is coming out in one big unusable clump.

Ice is melting due to a sealed system problem causing the freezer to rise in temperature.
This must be attended to by an EPA "Certified" Technician.

Dehumdifier not collecting water.

It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises.

The filter (on some models) may be dirty or clogged. If so, clean the filter. For instructions on cleaning the filter.

I hope this help to solve, if this answer solve it, remember to rate it. Good luck.

My 5-year old KSC9251 side by side KitchenAid ice maker will quit delivering ice for no obvious reason, except the temperature in the freezer will rise a few degrees. A change in the recommended settings...

There is actually a small heater in the ice-cube tray. The heater melts the surface of the ice to allow the cubes to eject without too much effort.

My guess is that your heater cable may be unplugged or not plugged tightly. If not, your heater may be burning out.

Usually $50 to $75 for that section of the ice maker if you can get the parts and do it yourself.

The freezer temperature changes sporadicaly. It

The temperature would charge due to change of cycles in the refrigerator operation. For example, the temperature would slowly rise if the compressor has shut off. Also, the temperature would rise significantly during the defrost process. A heater is activated at the evaporator coil to thaw the ice that forms there. This heat would transfer to the freezer unit and would cause the temperature to go up.

As long as the cycles are constant, and the temperature does not rise significantly and keep rising for a long period, there is no problem.

Stops cooling ice melts and leaks water on the floor

That model refrigerator uses the mother control board for deciding when defrost is to take place. It has no defrost timer or Adaptive Defrost Control like other refrigerators. This sounds like *********** board part number WR55X10942 is malfunctioning. The board decides most functions of your refrigerator. Until the board is replace I do not believe the problem will resolve itself. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Not cooling but everything seems to be on

remove back panel inside freezer and evaporator pipework will be exposed.
if this is heavily iced up, airflow will be impeded and hence rise in temperature
disconnect from mains and melt ice off carefully with a hairdryer then switch back on
you probably have a fault with the defrost system if this is the case - get back to me
