Hello, the problem with your machine is the push down cam, i don't know if it has a name for it, but i call it a bad piece of plastic, well its split, now i have used paper clip wire, it breaks when trying to cinch down, i found that spring wire, from a strong spring of the same size of the small paper clip, it works, you will need to wrap around twice, then cinch down, its hard, you will stab your fingers with the wire, but if done right it will work, you will notice before you do. this small piece of plastic fits in only way, so when cinching the wire, make sure it does not move. if you can do this without taking the entire piece out of machine then your way ahead of the game, since i have found taking all out of the machine, will require patience getting it back in and timed right, there is a small motor, and gears that must match together. hopefully this is helpfull

Kodak 5100 only prints half the page

My Kodak Easy Share 500 decided to only print 1/2 the photo today.  For over 1 year it has worked just fine.  Any ideas?

Printing 1/2 page

Ok, this is what I found when I finally broke down and decided to take it apart. There is a bar with two cams on either side of it that are used to engage the print head to the paper. The smaller cam on the bar has cracked and no longer pushes the print head down on that side of the paper, causing the half picture. What I did was remove the cam from the bar, glue it back together, then wrapped it tight with thread (only one layer, there is a clearance issue), and put epoxy around the thread(to help reinforce the cam). Once the epoxy had cured, I reinstalled the cam to the bar. The cam did crack again, but the thread and epoxy held it tight to the bar. After reinstalling the bar and putting the rest of the printer back together, I crossed my fingers and tried to print a picture. Tada!! It worked!! I have since printed a few more and have not had a problem yet. It may only be a temporary fix, and nothing could be better then the original replacement part (if you know where to get it), but this has worked for me. Good luck and be patient.
