  1. Clear out anything previously programmed into the in-car system from the factory by holding down on the 2-outside buttons simultaneously, until the in-car LED starts flashing rapidly. This may take up to a minute (in most cases, the key should be on auxilary, and/or the car door must be shut).

  2. Decide which button you want to make to be your in-car garage door transmitter. Hold your transmitter up near the selected button, pressing both the garage door remote and the selected in-car transmitter button simultaneously. Hold down on the buttons until the in-car, LED light flashes rapidly. This sets the in-car remote transmitter to be your garage door openers make transmitter, but you are not done. You now need to make this in-car transmitter your personal transmitter.

3. Go to the Learn Button on your garage door opener. The button is usually next to the area where the floppy antenna is connected to the motor head. With Genie it is most often behind the light lens, and an indicator light flashes red when pressed. With Sears or Liftmaster (Chamberlain) it is near, or part of, the terminal screw board, and is a red, green or purple square button with a green, amber or purple indicator light. Press this learn button momentarily. The indicator light will turn on and blink if Genie or otherwise stay lit. For Genie systems, go back to the in-car transmitter button you programmed and press this button 3 or 4 times, or until the door starts moving. This should set your in-car transmitter to your garage door opener. For Liftmaster, Sears, or Linear Megacode press and hold the in-car button you programmed until the garage opener light flashes. Your in-car is now programmed to operate your door.

go to manualsonline.com and find the garage door model's manual. read it along with your cars owners manual. make sure you are parked close/under the opener as you try to program for best results.

I have a Liftmaster 3265-267, remotes do not work. Tried new batteries in remotes and still no work. When I get close to overhead unit and depress remote, I do hear a couple clicking noises

If the door works from the wall switch, but not from the remote, I'd suspect the battery. (s)
Since you have NEW batteries that only leaves 2 things that can be wrong. Check the program numbers for the remote and the door control board. They need to match.
If you check that and the remote still doesn't work, it could be the receiver built into the circuit board of the opener. Hopefully it's not that since it would need to be replaced.
Make sure the batteries aren't old one that were in a drawer somewhere, that despite being "new" are dead....or weak.

New door openers have a different radio frequency than the old models. This is most likely your problem and you will need to buy the keypad that is compatible with the new opener.

I CAN NOT PROGRAM MY BUILT IN CAR REMOTE ON MY NEW 139.53985DM

didnt try everything cause if you did, it would work! Get two people and garage door opener. One read manual from car under Garage door" or Homelink while other pushes button. When manual says if this did not work or if you have security plus or rolling code, continue with other instructions. You will need a working remote and will need to pushh learn button on motor logic board.

Programming the garage door opener

I know what the problem is but never tried to resolve it. I have a 1998 XJ8 and went through the same problem. After numerous attempts to program the 4 channel built in opener I researched the problem and learned that the system in the car actually changes the code after every use. It's a security feature built in to the system. I simply started keeping my remote in the car.

There must be a way to disable the automatic randomizer so it retains the code from your remote opener everytime. Check with the dealer to see if it can be disabled and you will be in business. Please post the info if you get it.

Good Luck!

Stuck on Glass cycle!

Hi melH Sounds like the water is not heating. Will be either an open circuit thermostat, heater element, or the switch / relay that controls the element. Using an ohm meter, test the element for resistance. Check thermostats for continuity. Regards
