My dryer does not heat up but the drum is turning

Just because the drum turns doesnt mean its drying. The dryer has heating elements, sounds like they need to be checked or replaced. Check lint trap, and make sure no dust in the tube in back of dryer are clear. If they are it may be the heating elements.

Not heating

sounds like a heat sensor to me. Sorry but you will have to get it tested or buy both sensors on your heat element. look in the dryer as its running... Does the heat coil turn orange in the dark???? If it doesnt you will have to replace the heating element.. (should be about 75 bucks)

My Fisher Paykel dryer runs as normal just doesnt put out any heat.

Hi,
Usually when an electric dryer runs but stops heating, the heating element has failed and needs replacing. I don't know if you are a do-it-yourself type, but you can get the model/make/serial information and obtain the correct element at your appliance parts store.
I hope this helps... Good luck.

Dryer runs but doesnt heat. Used to just unplug and replug cord and would work but now even that won't work

Sounds like you have to replace your thermostats in the back of the dryer. Also check to make sure your heating element is good

Dryer model LER6620PQ0 dryer runs, but will not heat

If drier runs and doesnt heat, it can be one of two things. 1)The over temp. th/stat has activated. Possibly it can be reset. or 2)the actual element is faulty, which would need replacement.

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Hi, Sounds to me like the heating element has shorted out against the cabinet. What make/model# is this dryer?

Buzzing sound

This could be caused by vibration of the element coil supports (ceramic pieces that hold the element) as the machine is running. It could be intermittent due to the expansion and contraction of the coils when heating up and cooling down. See if moving the dryer while it's "buzzing" makes any difference in the sound.
If this is the case, you can replace the heating element or try re-leveling the machine. As a quick fix, tweaking the coil or supports is also possible but I wouldn't recommend this unless you feel comfortable doing so or you have experience.
