Unfortunately no. What temperatures are you trying to reach. Most smoking of meat is done at 225-250. What is the maximum you can obtain? Keeping the unit out of the wind and cold, better insulation, stopping any leaks, is about the only way to do it.

You are not the first Masterbuilt Electric Smoker owner to have this problem. The Model 20070106 has been plagued with electrical problems from day one. Maybe, that's why it only has a 90 day warranty?

As far as parts are concerned, you can call Masterbuilt (800-489-1581), first to see if they can help you. More than likely, you will need to replace the electronic control panel on the top of the smoker and maybe the electric element, too.

Another place to try is www.factoryapplianceparts.com.

I need an element for Mod: 20070106 Ser.# GA040925

You can purchase a new heating element part # 990050051 either from Masterbuilt or from Factory Appliance Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/brands/masterbuilt/
If they are still available. All of Masterbuilt's electric smokers have been plagued with electrical problems.. It's either the element or the electronic controller on the top of the smoker, that constantly fail.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

While using my Masterbuilt smoker (Model 20070106) the temperature began to gradually decrease and now it will not heat at all. I'm sure the heating element needs to be replaced but I am having...

SgtDave - Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. There have been a bunch of people seeking either the burner element and/or the electronic controls. The burner element is available form Appliance Factory Parts, but only with the smoker box. At one time is was sold separately, but now, the element by itself is no longer available. Even Masterbuilt no longer sells just the heating element. In part, if you check your Owner's Manual or the Manufacturer's Data Plate on the smoker, take note of the Country of Origin, you'll understand why.

Wish I could have been of more help to you.

Masterbuilt electric smoker is brandnew plugged it in runs for about 5 minutes then flashes EAA1 and showing the temp is 32??

Had the exact same problems. I took off the electronic control unit and made sure the probe was still connected (unplugged and checked the pins for damage). After reassembling the unit everything worked fine. My guess is that the probe was not properly connected, therefore it was showing 32 deg all the time. Once it was properly connected, the actual temperature showed on the display. Hope that helps.

Required wattage

It appears that the element for this device is 1500 watts. At 120 volts, that's 12.5 amps.
