You will need to take the dryer apart, pull the drum out. Then at the bottom you will see the main discharge, take it off and insert a 45 degree elbow, you will need to then install hard venting to reach the knock out on the side. Be sure to use metal duct tape when sealing the venting to avaoid fire haz.

Not likely such a thing. The funny shape probably has something to do with the air passages.

How do i change the high limit thermostat on a kenmore dryer # 72822

Unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. Slide the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the dryer vent from the back of the dryer. Loosen the retaining screw on the clamp connecting the vent to the dryer's exhaust port and slide the vent off of the port.
Remove the hex nuts holding the dryer's rear panel in place and slide the rear panel off to the side of the dryer. Locate the high-limit thermostat on the heating element housing on the right side of the dryer. The oval-shaped thermostat can be found a few inches from the bottom of the heating element housing.
Unplug the two thermostat wires by sliding them off of the thermostat's contact posts. Slide the old thermostat out of the socket on the heating element housing.

Dryer doens't heat

Model Number is always helpful

Unplug unit and turn off gas if gas model. Check to be sure you have 240 Volts at wall outlet.

Most parts likely to fail on electric dryers are inside the rear cover. Heater is on right inside can, safety thermostat on lower left of can, High limit thermostat (non-resettable) higher left of can. On the blower housing to the left are the operating thermostat and, in some models, a thermal fuse (white plastic). ALL can be continuity checked easily. Always disconnect wire on one side of what you are testing. One will likely be open. Replace the component that fails the continuity test.

The thermal fuse or high limit thermostat failure generally points to a reduction of air flow due to SOME blockage either inside the dryer or in the vent pipe leading out of the house. If you find either of these parts bad be sure to check the vents after replacing parts to ensure the same parts won't fail again.Heater replacement sometimes requires lifting of top. Under the lint filter cover there are two screws. Remove them WITHOUT dropping them into the vent or you may cause a more serious problem. Insert a putty knife between the front and top about 2 inches in on both sides. This will release the top for raising.

110V dryer doesn't heat past 107 degrees

Make sure the vent on the back of dryer is not blocked. Most dryers use 240 volts. Read the data plate on rear of dryer to confirm this. Example number 912.25879

  • Beneath Or Inside door Compartment On Cabinet Frame
  • On Plate Lower Front Or Rear Of Cabinet
  • Beside Door On Right End
  • Near Rear Of Cabinet
  • Inside Liner At Top
Let me know Thanks, Sea Breeze

Danby DCD5505-w1 Tripping Internal Breaker "Limit Switch"

Sounds like you may have a lint clog somewhere either in the dryer, or if if you have it vented in the vent. The limit switch is tripping due to an overheat situation. The dryer must have proper airflow to function properly.
