No that should be plenty. Only other thing I can think of is to make sure that you have the most current drivers for both you sound and video cards. Visit the manufacturer's websites to download the latest drivers.

Let me know if you need any help finding them.

HP xw4400 workstation wont boot/start if RAM are inserted.

If you are increasing the RAM from 1Gb to 2Gb then the RAM maybe incompatible. Try using a RAM module as the original make and speed.
Try installing one RAM module at a time to see if one of the RAM modules is faulty.
Removing the RAM will give a POST error code of no RAM or faulty RAM.

What is the max ram speed my pc can take

According to some research, your desktop has 4 RAM slots available. The total maximum RAM your desktop can hold is 2GB (2048MB). Furthermore, each slot can hold a maximum of 1GB (1024) but cannot exceed the 2GB total.
This means you can theoretically install 2 x 1GB RAM DIMMS in 2 RAM slots or 4 x 512MB RAM DIMMS. Both will meet the desktops 2GB limitation.
The RAM specifications for your desktop are as follows:
RAM Limit: 2GB (2048MB) RAM Slot Type: SO-DIMM RAM Type: DDR1 (not DDR2 or DDR3) RAM Speed: PC3200/DDR400 ECC Type: Non-ECC
TIP: The RAM is DDR which means that while you can install them as singles (single-channel mode), the system will see a speed benefit from installing them as matched pairs (dual-channel mode).

WANT TO PLAY GTA 4

It will run but if you want smooth full graphics you will need to get a better video card. of course 4 gigs of ram is better then 2 but if you are running 32 bit windows then you are stuck with a max of 3 gigs of ram.

Knowing the model of the mobo will not do anything if you know it takes
DDR2 5300.

And you can find tons of 1GB,2GB,4GB sticks.

If you want to know what memory MFG are compatible with you system
go to the Acer website.

As you can see at the website I posted below there are a lot of memory you can get.

Here are 12 different brands of 5300 2GB sticks of memory.

If your sure the motherboard takes 5300.

I installed Linux, and the PC doesnt standby

Some Linux versions often encounter problems with hibernation. That depends on the combination of which hardware you are using and which Linux distribution is installed.

Look at this posting for example regarding the same problem in ubuntu.

One important issue - and that is valid for all Linux distros - is, that your swap file has to be larger than the amount of RAM you have installed, because hibernating and stand-by writes whatever is in RAM to your hard drive. If you have 2GB of RAM installed, your swap partition has to be at least 2GB.

If you need more help, tell me which Linux version you are using. For now, your best choice is to search the forums for your distribution. There is a solution posted here, but since I haven't tried it, I can't guarantee that it's working,

Before working on system files, always make a copy of your original file in case something goes wrong.
>> sudo cp examplefile.conf examplefile.conf.bak

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Adding ram to an e-machine model w 3502

According to the eMachines site, this model comes with 512MB of RAM, expandable to 2GB. It came with 400MHz PC3200 DDR RAM installed, so you can get that type and know it will work. RAM is available from many suppliers. I use Newegg (www.newegg.com) and Tiger Direct (www.tigerdirect.com) for most of my computer parts.

If you're asking how to install more RAM, it's simple. Just line the module up with its socket on the system board and press straight down on it so it latches in place. The contacts are laid out so that you can't put the module in backwards. Once the memory is installed the motherboard will automatically detect the new amount. You don't need to change any settings on the board or in software.

If you need more information just post a follow-up!
