These are not the correct instructions for this model, PH0103. "Now close the oven door, and press the "Self Clean" button in the control panel. You need to press the "More" or "Less" arrow buttons to choose a cleaning time and level. The options range from 2 hours and 30 minutes to 4 hours and 30 minutes, available in 15-minute increments. You can choose light, medium, or heavy, depending on the amount of soil. The cleaning cycle starts seconds after choosing a level. Choose the time based on the amount of soil. Now press the "Start" button to begin the cleaning cycle. The oven door automatically locks and stays locked until the cycle completes and the oven cools down.

First, there are no More or Less buttons, no light, medium or heavy buttons or indications, and no start button. The doors do not automatically lock.

Can you please supply the correct information?

Hi,

The self cleaning feature is quite complicated for which you need to follow the owner's manual. If you have problems with this system, call a skilled repair person.

However follow the bellow instruction if it helps:-

First turn off the oven and allow it to cool. Then remove the oven racks, broiler pan and any other items from inside or on top of the oven, and from the storage drawer.Wipe the inside of the oven door edge using a cloth dampened with water. Wipe the inside 1 1/2-inch area around the edge of the oven cavity frame. Don't clean the gasket. Now close the oven door, and press the "Self Clean" button in the control panel.
When the auto clean function is finished and the "Lock" message turns off, unlock and open the oven door and wipe out any ashes using a cloth dampened with water. Replace the oven racks and any other items.

Hope this helps

I have a Whirlpool Gas Super Capacity 465 oven model SF325PEGW. I have lost my manual and I do not know if this is a self-cleaning oven or continuous cleaning or if I have to use Easy Off.

You can download the manual on the Whirlpool web site. Drill down to the technical and service sections. It takes a little poking around, but the information is there to download for free.

Modern Maid Wall Oven DGO757 ignitor gets orange, but does not fire oven.

HI, there are gas valve coils that initiate the opening and closing of the gas valves. these coils will become unstable overtime. if the coils are malfunctioning, it will cause the symptoms you are experiencing with your oven at this time. i recommend replacing the failing gas valve coils asap if possible.

It should be two or maybe three coils that are attached to the valve assembly(burner assembly). they are black and, cylindrical in design. replace these coils.

Good Morning: The self cleaning mode engages, locks the oven on the bottom, but does not clean. On the top, the latch does not engage at all on the self cleaning mode. What to do?

A safety feature on the oven door latch is preventing it from going on to clean. Find the reason the door wont latch on top section and it should clean then.

We know your controls are working asking the clean cycle to start because your lower door latches.

SO

Some things to check :

1. Bent or worn out door latch or striker or catch assembly
2. No power to motor to move latch assemble
3. Board for self cleaning may have fuse out or be bad entirely.
4. Motor assembly that moves the latch could be bound up or worn out

If this helps you understand your problem please rate me as high as you can and thank you for using fix ya. Good Luck and God Bless.

How do you clean an oven with the clean control knob. We have a modern maid

Generally, there is a latch which closes the door on some units...on others it is electrically actuated.  Turn the controls to clean.  Generally, there is a function control and a temperature control which must be activated.  This will latch the door electrically.  A two hour cycle is about right for most soil, if you're given a choice.  Ventilate the area...it smells!  The door will unlatch about half an hour or more after the cleaning stops.

How to use self cleaning oven

  • When using the self-cleaning feature on your oven, the temperature within the oven rises to an extremely high temperature, usually around1000 degrees. The oven will remain at this temperature for a set periodof time, often from 1 to 3 hours.

  • Self-cleaning ovens differ from traditional ovens in that they require a timer to control the amount oftime that the self-cleaning feature operates. They also require extrathermostatic controls to control the extremely high temperatures.

  • While the mechanisms inside aself-cleaning oven are quite complex, the concept behind aself-cleaning oven is fairly straight forward. The extremely hightemperatures incinerate dirt and debris from your oven, thus cleaningit for future use.

  • Safety is very important when using yourself-cleaning feature. You must ensure that the oven door is completelyclosed while the self-cleaning cycle is running. 1000 degreetemperatures are obviously extremely dangerous. Self-cleaning ovenswill come equipped with a secure oven door latch for this reason.

  • The crucial door locking system isinitially engaged to signal that you are ready to use the self-cleaningfeature. When the oven reaches a certain temperature, the door locksystem will ensure that the oven door cannot be opened until the cycleis complete and the temperature has returned to a manageable level. The result is a clean oven without the use of harsh oven cleaners orabrasives.
REMEMBER YOU ARE WORKING WITH 220 VOLTS - USE EXTREME CAUTION!!!
