Question about Dishwashers

2 Answers

My KitchenAid model KUDSO11JBSO dishwasher stopped running before the last cycle (drain) finished. All the lights and any response from the touch pad have gone out. There is still power to the junction box behind the toe kick on the unit. What is up?

Try shutting off the power at the breaker, leave it off for 45min. This will reset the unit. If you had a power spike this will fit the issue.

When wash cycle starts it seems to go much longer than normal. When finished, it still has water in the bottom of the machine and appears to have never run the rinse cycle.

assuming the new control board is wanting the device to drain , and sends the correct signal to do so , two other devices need to work to accomplish a drain of the device , first a drain diverter or solenoid valve needs to open , this device can be found by tracing back the drain hose from its connection to sewer line all the way back into machine , then lastly the pump needs to run to provide the pressure to push the water from the machine , this can be heard running by ear

How do I reset my KitchenAid Model KUDS35FXSS1

The unit normally has a 1:20 to 1:30 fill cycle with pauses in between while the wash motor starts and stops without running a diagnostic mode this normally happens when the control outputs power to the wash pump motor but the pump doesn't start

No lights on, didnt complete the drain cycle, stopped working now

There is a thermal fuse located in the control panel inside the door. It could be blown, but if so what caused it. they come with a retrofit pigtail to prevent loose connectins on the fuse. You may have a short somewhere in the dryer, and just blow the fuse again. Could be bad motor, fill valve, or heater, or even the control board. I'd try one fuse first.

Kitchenaid dishwasher won't drain someone opened door during cycle will this cause a problem

Opening the door wont matter. If you stop the cycle during a run it will always go into a drain. You might have a plugged drain line or burnt drain pump..

Cycle Sticks unless I manually move it along

Ya, the mechanical timer/dial is the problem. The heating element just got stuck on as the timer stalled in that dry cycle.

We have a kitchenaid dishwasher model#kud102irbl serial#FU1705420 Clean light keeps flashing on 7 times, waits a few seconds and flashes 7 times again. How can we repair this?? Dishwasher will not leave...

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).
