Problem (by 4 users)

TV = 4.25 yrs old. First snapping/cracking noise with lines through picture, then screen goes out & back on, then out for good- NO PICTURE. Red light blinks 8 times, then period of no light, then 8 blinks (even when I think power is off). When turned on sounds like tries to power up, then clicks like turning off. Have sound. Is it possible it's the power supply? If so, is this a simple inexpensive service/replacement?
