Question about Sony VAIO Notebook
1.Try restarting the computer in safe mode, keep tapping the F8 key as soon as you restart the computer and then from the advance boot options select the safe mode option to boot the computer to safe mode.
2. If the computer boots to safe mode perform a system restore.
3. If issue persists, reset the BIOS to defaults and then try again.
4. Verify if the hard is detected and listed in the BIOS setup. (press F2 at startup to enter BIOS).
5. If hard drive is detected and listed with its capacity such as 300/5oo GB, then, perform system recovery using the F10 recovery partition.
6. Restart the computer and start tapping the F10 key immediately to enter the system recovery partition, then, select the Rescue data option to backup the data from computer if any available or select the restore C drive option to perform system recovery and restore computer to factory settings.
You can also perform a memory diagnostics before performing the recovery.
If the hard drive is not listed in BIOS with its capacity, contact Sony service team to get the hard drive replaced.
If the computer is brand new, you can try exchanging the notebook with a new one.
