Netgear router my netgear router wont let me sign in to facebook or lycos. and some times halifax and morethan car insurance. but works fine on my mates computer on his netgear router at his house. PLZ HELP it really annoying

May be the MAC id of the computer must be released by your service provider

You have to make sure that you are typing the correct user name and password. The user name is most likely the email address that you signed up with. You have to be very careful with the password as any mistake could cause you to be blocked out.

press the reset button at the time of your router has to be connected to power. And press the button for 3 to 5 seconds. and restart your router

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

log in to netgear firewall and turn off web filtering or enter it as a safe site or whitelist site.

Verify that you can connect to the internet without the router by hooking the cable from the dsl modem to your computers NIC.

If you can connect to the internet that way the problem is with the router. press and hold the reset button on the back of the router to reset it to the factory settings. (this just makes it easy to determine the problem) if this corrects the problem you can setup your security again

Hey, Can you perform the task below and paste me the results from the modem:

Connect the modem to the computer. Open command prompt and type ipconfig. Paste me the results for IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.

Also, confirm, how you have connected the modem to the computer. IS it using a ethernet cable or USB?

You need to reset the router if the lights are flashing. Press the reset button at the back of the router for about 20 seconds then release it. Now unplug the power for 20 mins as well and plug it back in. Make sure your connection is right. PC connected to port 1 and modem to WAN or Internet port.

Try reinstalling the drivers for your wireless.
