It's Window's XP and unfortunately I don't have any other information at this time regarding the other font colors. The computer is actually a friend's and he asked for my assistance. He did mention that when in word and he chooses "black" he gets a purple color there as well.

    thank you.

I will have to check with him later today. I believe he said that when he chose black as the font color in Word, it printed purple on his screen. I will get back to you. I will also ask him to print something and let me know if the color is purple or black.

Please let me know which operating system in installed on the Computer. Yes, it's possible to change back to it's default (O.S default) font color, but the way to change is little or more different.

I would also like to confirm which font looks Red, the text (names) on the desktop or the font's when typing in Microsoft Word or etc.. If you could somehow upload the screenshot, that'd be much appreciated.

Well, if it's windows XP, then the desktop should look like this (reference only) :

Here, the fonts color is White, means all the names for all the icons are white color. If suppose, in your case, it's purple and you want them to change to Black, you can do it. There's no problem. I'll assist you with the instructions once it's confirmed.

Here's the screenshot of the Microsoft Word in Black color (texts in black color):

Here, the texts are in black color, you can change them to any color available in Ms-word, but there's little difference between Ms-office 2003 - 2007 and 2010. If this is the case, please let me know the Microsoft version, i.e. Microsoft office 2003 or 2007 or etc..

If this isn't what you mean, please confirm with whatever you can explain so that I can at least understand what exactly you want..

You can change the font color in the document you want to print.
(This will not help if the printer refuses to print blue while the black toner is empty.)

My background on my screen recently developed a purple hue to it, instead of a white. Can this be corrected?

This is likley a problem with the monitor's signal cable. Try moving the cable around steadily and see if the color suddenly goes back to normal or changes to a yellow hue. If this is the case and you are able to remove both ends of the cable then a replacement can easily be purchased from a local computer store or online. (Try or

I found yellowish display instead of black

Classic case of color IC going dead. You need a expert CRT technician to replace the aging IC. My recommendation is trade this CRT for a LCD, or if you have any warranty, get this monitor replaced.

Printing purple instead of black on photos

Did you recently buy the cartridge? What is the expiration date on the box? It may be old or not working well, just as you have guessed, and the printer is using the color cartridge to create black when the black does not function. If you have the option return the cartridge.

Cant figure out color issue with computer.'s a Dell and even when it's's still a Dell.
Have you tried the monitor on different system to eliminate the tower being the problem? Some have updated and/or rolled back drivers to help cure this problem, which seems to be a common issue with this LCD. Personally i think the contrast ratio is inadequate.
Good luck with your Delllll...

Epson c88 how print in magenta

Do you mean "how do I print text in Magenta instead of black". Well, you change the colour of the text from black to magenta. For example in Word, you would select (highlight) all the text, click on Format, then Font. Then click on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, then click on Magenta. To check you have the right colour, click again on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, and select More Colors. Then click on Custom. Magenta has a Red-Green-Blue value of 255-0-255. Now print the document and it will come out with magenta text.

If this is not what you want, please come back with a new comment explaining further.

Canon MP 730 prints wrong color tones

I was having a similar problem-- what was happening was the print cartridge head seemed to be letting the colors leak into each other. (the science behind this is beyond me!)-- I noticed that instead of being cyan/magenta/yellow, my yellow cartridge had actually turned green, magenta was picking up blue and was turning purple, etc etc. I ended up replacing the printer's printhead and all the color cartridges and then it worked.
You can order printheads online.
Not sure if this fixes the original reason why they got all mixed up in the first place-- if the printer will continue to allow the print head to leak the colors into each other-- but hopefully that's a fixit!
