You can use your camera and its included cables to download your pics. This would be explained in the owner's manual. But, a card reader is certainly a better choice. It's faster and trouble-free....you don't need any special software...you can drag and drop the files to a folder you create on your desktop. Once you have one, it can be used with any memory card in the future. You won't be sorry you purchased one (and they're cheap too!). taken some photos, so how - typrice_17.jpg

My photos will not upload

Connect the camera to the PC and if this is not detected then check on the programs if there is any drivers installed. You might need to uninstall and then reinstall the camera drivers.
Also if this is not detected then the memory card must be taken from the camera and inserted into the PC using a card reader or into the card reading slot of the PC.
The images will be detected , if not the memory card is defective.

Use a card reader to download your pictures. It may solve the problem. After you do, format the card in the camera. Be sure you use a high quality card.

Problem with uploading photos from fujifilm finepix s1000

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.
