The TI-83 Plus does not have any built-in base conversion capabilities. However, you will find plenty of programs for doing so at http://www.ticalc.org

That is its default mode. If you want results in fraction format, type in the expression and before pressing the [enter] key, press [MATH] then select [1:>Frac] and press [ENTER].

Convert between decimal and binary and back again with this calculator

Sorry but this calculator cannot do calculations in other numerations just decimal. To make sure examine the calculator looking for markings like BIN OCT HEX. If you do not find any (and you will not) then you can be sure that it does not perform base conversions.

I have an exam next week and I need to know how to convert and solve: Decimal, Binary, Octal, and Hexadecimal on my TI-30Xa. Is there a tutorial available?

I am sorry to disappoint you but this calculator does not do base conversions. Here is a link to the manual so that you can verify what I am saying. Also, look at your calculator and see if there are any keys that are marked OCT BIN HEX. If you do not find any then you can be sure that the calculator does not do base calculations.
