During setup you must have a RJ45 ethernet cable plugged, one end on your router and the other on the laptop.
Make sure on your laptop, that the Local Area Network Connection is "Enabled".
If it is "Disabled" Just double click on the icon to "Enable" it then try your Setup process again.

This should work.

Usually this is caused because the security settings on the laptop or PC do not match what is setup on the wireless router. Login to the wireless router and look at what is setup for security, WPA, WPA_PSK, etc, also the passphrase, it is case sensitive. The setup on your laptop must match.

Computer does not connect

NEW LAPTOP? Noticed a lot of post for same Laptop as same time.
If try to use wireless - you need to set-up wireless part of router and wireless part of laptop (Wireless Software).
Setup your network same it is on the PC.
Use Network setup wizard, if not know how in system manager, in the control panel.
Network Name is same on both, MYHOUSE is good.
The only thing different should be NAME, like SYS02,
PC would be SYS01, and IPaddress ( first 3 sections same as PC - Last section is indivual system - example follows:
PC = 192.168.1.40 then LT = 192.168.1.41
Suggest you hard wire laptop to router to verify network connection then work on wireless connection setup after you get connected thru hard line.

Problem with Toshiba wireless conection

Hi,

If you have your router set-up with security enabled, you should try to re-set the router and then go back onto the routers "control panel" and re-setup the security. You can find out the correct way to reset the router and the correct address to enter into the browser to access the routers control panel by going to the router makers website and checking under Support

Cannot conect to internet

The router does not ask for a password unless you log into the setup page @ 192.168.2.1
So it must be the software that is controlling the wireless adapter ont that laptop. I would uninstall/reinstall the software for the wireless card. And then set it so that windows controls the wireless conne

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Wired vs wireless

Yes. Wired will be faster and setup is the same. You turn off the wireless on the laptop, and plug in the ethernet cable. The settings are probably defaulted to obtain an IP address automaticlly and that should work.

The wirelss will continue to work as it did before for the other machines.
