Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have an Acer Aspire laptop model 3624. All of a sudden it stopped working and will not advance past the Acer screen. Pressing F2-enter setup does nothing either. Any suggestions?

You have a virus sub level 2. what you need to do is replace the memory inside or send it in for repairs... this is the only solution

Cmos settings for acer aspire m5641

to reset the cmos you only need to take the small round battery off the board for a few minutes. if your laptop is not keeping time then you need a new battery on the board. ( you will find you cant get on websites when your laptop has the wrong time on as its a security risk ) to enter the bios ( which i would not if i didnt know what i was doing ) turn off laptop/press power button to turn it on/keep pressing F2 while its booting up ..but be careful in there

Get in to bios acer aspire AST180-ED400A

First shut your computer off. Wait a few seconds (to allow the hard drive to stop spinning) and start the computer again.
Start repeatedly pressing F2 while the Acer logo is displaying. Press it once, wait a second, press, it again, wait another second, and repeat this while the Acer logo is displaying until you see the bios setup screen.

HOW to tget to bios acer aspire AST180-ED400A

Immediately after pressing the power up button, start repeatedly pressing F2 while the Acer logo is displaying. The Bios setup screen should appear. If you press F2 too soon, the keyboard may not have initialized yet. If you press it too late, Windows will proceed to launch. Press it once, wait a second, press, it again, wait another second, and repeat this while the Acer logo is displaying until you see the bios setup screen.

This is standard approach with most Acers. That said, some laptops may defer to either Ff being the key to press or CTRL+ALT+EXC. Such would be entered as the above mentioned F2. Your Aspire appears to be a desktop and I suspect F2 will suffice.

if this fails you might try some of these

Acer: - Ctrl+Alt+Esc

ALR PC: (F2) or (Ctrl)(Alt)Esc)

AMI BIOS: (Del), (F1) or (F2)

How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. How do i format my acer aspire 1300?

Some laptop have a system recovery menu that restore the system from the manufacturer. There is usually a hotkey on the POST screen.

If you don't want to restore to the system back to from the manufacturer or want to upgrade the operating system complete the following steps:

1. Press power button.
2. Enter BIOS by pressing F2 or DEL on the POST screen. Make sure "From CD" is first in the BOOT order.
3. Insert operating system cd
4. Restart system.
5. The system should now boot from the CD.
4. Follow the promps to do a clean install.

My srceen goes Blank

Hi,

first try booting the laptop and pressing the Fn key with the numerical ( numbered key ) that has a picture of 2 screens on it. This is for booting to an external monitor. you could also try adding an external ( pc monitor ) this will eliminate any motherboard Faults.

Secondly, the graphics chip driver may be corrupt or not installed correctly. if you have a restore cd, you could try booting the laptop, with the cd in the drive.

you can then try, to see if the settings in the bios are all correct, by booting/starting the laptop and pressing esc or F2 or delete immediately as the laptop starts. ** Be-Careful** what you adjust.
My suggestion is to look for. ** default settings tab** or load setup defaults.

these are the obvious things to try, before assuming that you have a faulty graphics chip or motherboard fault.
