Question about Toshiba PC Laptops

1 Answer

Toshiba Laptop Computer was working fine and suddenly just started turning off. When attempting to reboot, error messages came up saying something about an error in Windows XP and "bad Hard Disc C". Before I could read all of the messages, the computer would shut down again. We attempted to have it repaired by a small business and they stated that the memory card was bad and that we had some viruses. They "cleaned up" our system and put in a new memory card. Two weeks later the computer just shut down and we were never able to boot up again. The laptop is only 2 1/2 years old and we do not take it out of the house or even use it that much. We spent $130.00 and still have a broken computer. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me as if the memory card was only part of the issues with the laptop, if you had some viruses and it destroyed the memory, then they didn't do a very good job of cleaning all the viruses out of the computer, you might be better off replacing the hard drive,www.consumer depot.com has very reasonable prices on hard drives and memories for computers, you might try finding both them in their web site, and replace the items you need to replace:

1. hard drive specific to the one you have on board now. 2.Ram memory card Specific to MFG's requirements.

That will fix your problem, the re-load your XP operating system and your good to go after you setup automatic updates and download NEW ANTI VIrus. I recommend Avast Free home addition anti Virus download, you will be TOTALLY Protected, and stay off web sits such as Lime Wire, and Blubster, be careful what web sites you visit.

Hopefully this will fix u r problem, I gaurantee it!

How do i fix my internet issue with Toshiba laptop

First thing is the operating system. What windows version you ae using has a lot to do with how to proceed. You need to look in device manager in the control panel to see what it says about your wireless device. Then you should check the error messages to see what they are

My toshiba just keeps acting like it is going to reboot then it shuts off. Whe ou turn it on it keps doing the same thing, we tried a new hard drive but that didn't work either

Press the f8 key when it attempts to restart. It should go to a menu with several options. Choose the option that says, "Diasable automatic restart on system failure." and it should go to a blue screen with a message about your error. Write down the error and 'google it' on a working computer and it should give you a good idea of what is causing the problem. Good luck.

I have a toshiba Satellite laptop that all of the sudden has started shutting down on me when I am in the middle of something. What could it be?

Depends. When you say it shuts down, do you mean it flashes blue and then shuts off / restarts, or just plain shuts off, and stays off?
If it is flashing blue real fast, then shutting off, here's what you do:
While starting the computer, press F8 as soon as the brand logo goes away, and keep pressing until you get a screen that says Safe Mode on it. Then highlight the Disable Automatic Shutdown option, and hit enter. Use the computer until you get the blue screen. It will give you an error message, followed by a stop code. (0x0000ce or something like that). Get that error code, and bring it back here. I'll tell you what it means.

If it is simply turning off without warning, and stays off, most likely it is overheating. In which case, head to Wal-Mart, go to the computer section where the keyboards are, and pick up a can of compressed air. Blow out the computer right where you see the vent on the side (maybe on back), and try that. If that doesn't work, get a laptop cooling pad and use that. If it still doesn't work, then the heatsink for the CPU needs to be recompounded, in which case take it to a shop. Unless that is you ABSOLUTELY know what you are doing and can do it yourself. IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN A LAPTOP APART BEFORE DO NOT ATTEMPT IT WITHOUT A PROFESSIONAL, YOU WILL BREAK IT.

Let me know how it goes, and i'll try to help you further if need be.

Toshiba Satellite A15 problem

Most Windows XP Blue screen errors are

reolved by the following.

Run CHKDSK /R

Do this by opening "My computer"
Right click on the C: drive (most often

named "local Disk") and select

properties.
Click on the Tools tab.
Click on "Check Now"
Check "Automatically fix file system

errors" and Scan for and attempt

recovery of bad sectors"
Click Start and then "OK" on the error

that comes up.
Now reboot your computer.

This will probably fix the error.
