I just got an error this morning that says I need to format this external hard drive before I can use it. I can't do this because it has all my files one it. I can I fix it?

You need to go to computer management in control panel and storage to see if the drive is initialized, if it is then it may be corrupted, if it is not then you need to try that. The initialization wont damage the data on it.

How to I clean out adata nobility nh92 so I can start updates again?

Check in "Properties" i if your external hard dreive is really full. If it is full, check entries; probably about half of your hard drive is useless backup. Delete unnecesary files and folders so it might continue backing up.

It can't be initilized

All I can suggest is to check the connections of your USB and Power Supply. If everything is ok, you should find someone specialized in recovering data from Hard Drives with access problem.

you always have to format a new drive when you get it. Open control panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management.... Disk Management. In the top or bottom locate the drive (windows will likely ask if you want to format it before you hunt it down). If windows does not ask right click the drive and choose format

System not recognizing external device

I understand by "external device" is that your none of your USB ports work and you can't use your CD/DVD burner
Get a Hard Drive to USB connection, they are cheap and you can get one in any computer store, remove your HARD DRIVE from your Compaq and connect it through USB to your new computer. You can copy all your data and still continue using your old herd drive as an external drive.

MY NH92 ADATA External HDD detected very bad and slow some times it doesnt setected i changed my windows and test it on anothers computers but didnt change in it working. please guide me what should i do?

click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x
right click to reinstall drivers or

if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver

if this fails to fix the problem

check usb leads for secure dust free seating

sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable

just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again,

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems
hope this helps
