Question about Goodman Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My unit is running on heat but every 10 seconds makes a clickiing noise like something has been tripped. This is followed by a whooshing noise. My repair man says it's normal and the unit is trying not to freeze. Very annoying noise. Do not remember hearing this noise last year.

Trying not to freeze every 10seconds ha.it goes in defrost every 20mins . if something has been tripped it would fully stop and you would have to restart it at the circuit braker. its not the fan hitting something ? repair man is an air con mech? is it a box window unit?

Viking VGIC oven burners ignite but cycle off repeatedly temperature rarely gets to 300 after 30 minutes. If igniters ignite is problem elsewhere - like bad bi-metal valve? Range and broiler work OK,

There is a sensor that detects the oven temperature, it must be defective and sending a signal that oven is at set temperature and this shuts off the gas valve.

Why after a loud bang did breaker trip on ac/heat unit. Wont run at all now

If its a heat pump and the compressor was running, there is a possibility that the compressor itself or something IN the compressor circuit shorted out and tripped the main breaker. It could also be something as simple as a shorted compressor run capacitor.

If its a forced air system with an electric air handler, resistance heat and central air conditioning....it could be just a shorted heating element that tripped a breaker OR it could have been a control circuit short that blew out the non-fused control transformer.

There are only about fifty scenarios that could have happened to cause the noise and to cause the systems failure....but these are the first few basics that could easily be investigated.

Indesit is70c

its a saftey device, called a "thermodisk". It's purpose is to turn off the heating coil or stop gas flow in the event of over heating. If the thermodisk is bad, trying to over ride it (trying to get it to run) will trip the breaker. Its about 10 bucks and easy to replace.

Sharp 1200w microwave seems to be tripping lightly (can hear clicking noises)and cause heating to be irregular

Clean the food off the inside top of the microwave Now,Or that noise you are hear will stop along with the microwave. The food gets on the Formica Squire which is how the micro waves heat your food. 1st unplug the Microwave then spray the inside of the unit with something like Fantastic or something strong and use glove so you don't burn you hand,Also if you have a scrub brush use it,And clean all the soap out and raise very well.

New 14 seer split ruud heat pump makes very loud knocking noise

Well you may want to have a tech come out and check the freon level, but mostly when going into defrost, some units make alot of noise, the freon is reversed in the unit by way of the reversing valve, it makes a whooshing sound like freon is draining off, as far as the knocking noise, could be as I said in the beginning, might be low on freon, but it could be that, this particular unit does this, I have had units make some really strange noises in the past but functioned perfectly, hope this helped, please let us know, thanks again,
