If it does this, even when the remote control is in a different room (or has the batteries removed), you need to have the set serviced by a professional.
If it only happens when the remote is nearby then you may actually have stuck keys or the equivalent shorting inside the remote. Some remote cases open easily and you can blow out the inside and under the keys with "canned air" spray.
If the problem is with the remote, you can buy a cheap replacement at a local drug store. They will be labeled "universal" remote. However, no remote is truly universal. Check the label on the package and verify online that the device will work with your brand of TV BEFORE you buy.
Never open the case of a CRT or Plama television as there are LETHAL voltages inside for WEEKS after the set is unplugged.
