Hi.
You need to replace the oven element, located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

Yes, a very easy job to do, just undo the 2 screws securing element to rear wall of oven, ease it forward and detach the 2 leads, and earth wire if there is one
Fit leads to new element , refit element.

Hi, new element has arrived and as you say, undo the two screws and that is it basically. However, my oven is fitted into a kitchen unit, so I guess the whole unit has to come away from the fitted kitchen. Therefore I guess I need the fitter to come and do it as cannot imagine that I can remove the whole cooker from the frame or whatever it is in.

    Hi.
You should not need to get a fitter to do the job for you.
Once you have undone the screws, just pull the element towards you, and it it will come away from the rear panel.
The wires will still be attached, so carefully remove them and fit onto new element.
You should not have any problem.
    Good luck.

    Hi again,

Unfortunately the screws are behind the panel, oh that it would be so easy. With a free standing cooker no problem, just pull it forward, but as already stated, mine is built in, but as ever, your comments are welcome and much appreciated.

The fan in main oven only blow out cold air

The fan does not produce hot air. It just circulates it. The thermostat turns on the heating element and the fan moves the hot air around. Unless you have an odd working machine. Baked bread for years an it only moves air for even heat.

Fan oven blowing cold

The fan inside an oven is usually for convection cooking. It circulates air that is already heated. It is not a heater.

Hi it could be the element on the grill it maybe burning out, what slows the grill to get hot quicker. best to turn of the mains or by the main switch. and get a toorch to check around the element or use a continental reader check if it is receving 240volts

AEG Competence Oven not working

If you are certain that the element is o/k, and it is not heating, then thwere are 2 possibilitues.

1- the oven thermostat could be faulty, whereby it is giving a feed to the element.
2-some ovens have a fan only setting, as well as heat and fan, make sure that it is not on a fan only setting.
Hope this helps.

Oven is AEG Competence, single oven, fan assisted, 4 yrs old. Oven doesn't heat. Light ok, automatic cooking settings not switched on, grill working

If the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.
This should solve the prob.
Please leave feed back.
Thankyou.

Convection oven blowing cold air

If your fan is blowing cold air, it's the air inside the oven that circulates. It has nothing to do with the fan. Convection circulates the existing air in the oven. Sounds like you might deselect the convection setting if this continues to happen. We have parts, so please let us know if we can help any further. :>)

If the fan is working o/k, then you need replace the oven element.
To access this, remove inner rear cover of oven, there you will see the circular element.
Unscrew the screws securing it ,and remove element.
Detach wires and transfer to new element, be careful not to lose the wires behind the oven rear, refit element and rear cover.
