DeLonghi Prima Donna Avante ESAM6700 Automatic Coffee Coffee Maker Logo

I have a DeLonghi Prima Donna coffee machine which is 6 months old. When I plug the milk container nozzle into the machine it is not recognised by the machine. A message on the screen is saying "insert milk container?" It seems that the machine is not detecting the presence of the milk container nozzle/switch? Regards, Nick Bridges

Maybe youare not pushing the milk-container sufficiently in. Mine has been increasinglyhard to fit. After speaking with DeLonghi service, they suggested lubricatingthe o-rings on the nozzles on the machine. I asked if cooking oil would be ok,to which they agreed. To I took a cottonstick and dipped it in ordinary cookingoil, and swept it over the inside of the two nozzles on the milk-container,since the o-rings on the machine itself were hard to get to. Now it workssmoothly. I was reluctant to try that out before speaking with DeLonghiservice, since they are so set on only using original stuff for the machine, and I did not think a machine this expensive would need this type of 'help'. Useat your own risk :-)

Our Delonghi Prima Donna always made hot coffee up until 2 weeks ago

Try first to heat the cups ,and then make the coffee.
Becouse the water for coffee and for hot water comes from the same way.

Hi, I am having trouble getting the milk to froth without bubbling. Ihave cleaned it really well and hoping you have the solution. Cheers Denis Stevenson

sounds like the milk jug has not been inserted correctly
give it a wobble whilst using
check the o ring on machine wher the jug plugs in as there could be dried milk around it letting air into the system or faulty o ring

Initial set up of delonghi ESAM6700 and it will not go past insert water spout stage. Even when spout inserted it does not recognise and we cant continue setting up the machine as it simply reads insert...

OK, I can answer this one... the same thing happened to me. It would not recognize the water spout. No beep when inserted, but it would beep if you inserted the milk container. Looking into the receptacle, I saw that the switch for the milk container is offset to the right, and the switch for the water spout is offset to the left. All I had to do was carefully bend the lower tang on the water spout that activates the switch to the left a little bit. It looked perfectly straight, but was just offset to the right enough to miss the switch.

Hope this helps someone.

I have a Delonghi Prima Donna. Blows lots of stem but wont froth milk. The 3 orings have been replaced and the fittings cleaned, but still no frothing. I pulled the lid apart and it seems ok. Any...

Where is it blowing steam from? If it is coming from the milk spout then it most likely that the milk jug is blocked somewhere. If it is coming from where the jug connects to the machine (coupling) then you might need to change the complete coupling (assuming you used the correct orings). The biggest cause of frothing problems with these machines is lack of cleaning of the milk jug. Soak the top in quality milk cleaner for at least an hour and rinse thoroughly. Also run cleaner through it regularly using the milk only function.
