If you don't have a Print head maintenance kit (the solution to clean the head), water will do the trick. Take some hot water in a bowl and dip the head (only the head portion, nothing else, otherwise you may damage the cartridge), do some cleaning with cotton bud and until you are sure that it's cleaned, reinstall the cartridge after it's dried. It should work fine if there's ink in it and if it still works.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

It prints in black only and the tri-colour cartridge is 1/2 full

The color print head nozzles maybe blocked.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Please help i have a 22no hp color caterige after refil i found very bad image result colors are missing i put ink in right holes can anyone have right solution

Hi Farhana

You need to clean the Nozzles of the cartridge before inserting the cartridge in the printer. You can take a tissue paper and wet it a little and keep the cartridge nozzles side on the tissue and let it absorb little ink from the cartridge and later take a white sheet and try to press the paper against the nozzles to see if you get the correct colors out of the cartridge. e.i. CMY Cartridge No. 22 will have an arrangement of C on left and Magenta in Centre and Yellow on right side. If it does not work then you need to suck the ink from the nozzles with a little help of your mouth with a cloth covered on the nozzles.

It won't print black ink even with new cartridge and multiple cleanings

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

Sounds like the print head carrier, the printerhead has its black cartridge nozzles blocked, due to dryed up ink. Remove the back cartridge and Check the area under it, does there appear to be wet ink? if there is, then the cartridge is working but the nozzles are blocked. If the print head is removeable you might try to sink the bottom a bit in warm water to get the ink to dissolve from the nozzels. It should print after that.

just make sure the head is clean and dry before placing it back into the printer.

let me know how you get along with it.

HP Officejet 4355 All-in-One.Cartridge error.installation of new black hp 27 cartridge returns error message of wrong cartridge type for machine.generic new cartridge gave same result.tricolour 22 produces...

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. if the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:
1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.
2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.
3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the HP Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.
Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!

Printer reads out "Print Cartridge problem (Tri Color) Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" I purchased this HP Officejet J4550 All-in-one unit new and haven't made any color pictures with it....

I discovered on mine, exact same problem, I opened the tray, removed the cartridge, and forced it back in hard and fast. It didn't work the first 12 times but after that, it got a solid connection and it worked. Works fine now. Anyway that's the problem and the problem isn't the cartridge (genuine hp cart here). The problem is on the printer side, the pins that hit the cartridge. Anyway get rough with it, slam it in and out, close the tray, if it doesn't work within 5 seconds, open the tray and do it again. It WILL work.

HP Photosmart D7360 Printer - printing orange

sounds like the head nozzles are blocked, due to dry ink a trick I use is boilling a kettle, with hot water and i place only the nozzles into a clean jar, for 15 - 20 mins., this will not harm the nozzles just heat up the ink, in the nozzles and the nozzles will become unblocked and the ink runs freely.

I have used this method for over 5 years, and it doesnt always work, but it its a only think u can do before buying new cartridges.
