Question about Refrigerators
My Frigidaire side by side icemakeer and water dispenser was not working. I took out a contract with a local company. They diagnosed the problem as needed a new circuit board. They wanted $224.00 to fix. I ordered the part (I installed once before) and replaced the circuit board. I took the plastic connector and ran between the new circuit board and other circuit board in door. I'm not getting any electricity...no lights on the door panel? I don't understand why there's no juice to the panel?

SOURCE: Water Dispenser Drips
A common problem I see is people have the wrong kind of saddle valve on their water line. Make sure you don't have a self-piercing saddle valve. You should have a drill type saddle valve on the cold water line. Reason why, not enough water pressure to the water valve on the fridge. This will let the valve on the fridge hang slightly open which will cause a drip. Check this first. You will find info on this in the installation section of your owners manual.

I need the entire model # from the sticker inside the fridge section. My guess is this is the model that has a diode in the wiring harness that directs power to the valves and has gone bad letting power go to both valves. I would look and see if you also have water going into the icemaker when you press for water out of the dispenser. If there is no diode then the water valve is bad. I need the model # so I can look at a wiring diagram. You can look at the wiring to the water valve and see if it has a diode. It is black block and has two wires in one end and one out the other. If so the diode only can be bought and spliced in. Let me know so I can help.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

yea! I have been without cubes for 2 years. I slid out the tray, found the lever in the back where the rod went in, pulled it down, reinserted the ice tray, and IT WORKED! At first I thought I broke the lever, because I had to hold it down with a knife while I was inserting the tray, but it just must have been stuck. I am soooo happy!

I had a problem with my icemaker not drawing water or making ice, I did a full defrosting of my freezer taking everything out leaving the door open for about 1.5 hours It appeared that the inlet water supply had an ice blockace up in the water outlet, defrosting it cured the problem, it has been workinf fine for the last day tub is full of ice!!

Tips for a great answer:
If freezer door switch is not working, dispenser won't work. Does the freezer light go off & on when door is opened & closed? If you have a voltmeter, check that water valve is getting 120 volts when dispenser is pushed in. If no voltage, I would suspect the micro-switch that you hear clicking when you push in with a glass. Even though it clicks, the contacts could still be bad in it. However other than that loose/off wire, ribbon cable for front buttons off/loose, bad board, child lock are something that can make the dispenser dead.
