Question about Toshiba 42HP95 Television

1 Answer

My Toshiba 42HP95 has a blinking red light. My gut solution is a bad power supply. I would need some help for troubleshooting this problem and if possible a Repair Manual. Your help would be appreciated. Gabriel Brias g_brias@yahoo.com

It is definitely the power supply that is the problem, as you suspected.

The service manual can be purchased, but is not available for free anywhere online, you can get it here though if you desire:

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

42hp95 won't power up it clicks twice but red light just keeps blinking

This Toshiba unit must have been a "lemon", as the power unit was replaced about a year ago. It is only 3+ years old & we paid $1600+ for it in 3/96. Too bad. I'll never buy another Toshibaproduct.

42HP95 TV screen flickers off/on

Can be either one of three things 1) logic board, power supply, or unfortunately most likely is your panel. But if I were you I'd get a hold of Toshiba warranty center to diagnose because then they could check voltages with toshiba tech support.

Blinking RED power Light 42hp95 Toshiba

I turned the 42HP95 TV off one night and it didn't come back on. Had the red LED flashing etc. Found the solution posted by CheapTech: http://www.fixya.com/support/t101749-tv_turned_itself_off_turn_back but didn't take it seriously because these things never work, others were mocking the answer blah blah. Well, just before kicking the damn thing to the curb, I grabbed a screwdriver, took off the back cover, unplugged the little do-hicky sugested in the Solution, and the idiot box came right back on. Go figure. Been working ever since. SO, you might want to try this before busting out the electrical schematics and dropping $$ on repair. Cheers.
