Printer that came with my order

I'm just getting around to setting up the printer that came with my order of a couple of months ago [BBY01-251726056379], but I don't see a way to connect the printer to the computer [I have a disk, but I haven't worked with it yet]. I think it's the Epson Stylus printer. Can you help and tell me what I need, or send something to me? Thanks. I'm not sure which product I have, but it is a Gateway [I put something below just to fill in the space]. Thanks.

If your computer is bundled with an Epson printer, usually Epson printer aren't bundled with USB cable you check the model of your Epson printer by clicking on this link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes after you select the model of your product, click the more on this product link and clic on what's in the box link. I can guarantee that you most of them is not bundled with USB. If I am not mistaken the main reason why Epson doesn't bother to bundle to USB cables in their products is:
1. Most computer users have USB cable readily available as they may have printers using the cable previously
2. USB cable is readily available in local computer store (Officemax, Office Depot, Bestbuy etc)
3. They think that bundling it with their product will increase the cost of production which will entail them to increase the price of their product.

Hi CainF, most printers do not come with the USB cable needed to connect PC to printer. Click on this link below.
http://www.csncables.com/Cables-to-Go-1317X-1340X-GY1045.html
To get a close up view of the ends of the printer cable click additional images just below & to the left of the picture.
You can find these printer cables at most PC stores or you can buy directly from the site above. Their prices are average or better.

Good Luck!
Mike

I have a MFC-665CW all-in-one printer. Can't print.

it sounds like your office is on a domain . you will need to join that domain in order to print to your offices printer. locate the name of the domain and join the domain in order to print to the printer. make sure that the printer is you default printer.

I bought a belkin cable a couple of months ago in order to switch between two pc,s on one screen.Unfortunatly i forgot which buttons to press on my keyboard to switch screens can you help please

I may be behind the times but this is how I do it. Get a monitor data switch ($5-$10 used). On the back of the switch, connect each computer to input ports & the monitor to the output port. Set the knob on the front of the switch to each computer as you boot it. Turn switch to each computer as needed. You will have to turn a knob instead of pressing a key. If you can live with that it works great.

If it is not printing as it should even though the printer cable moves along the printing area, it could be a cartridge problem. If you have an old cartridge with a little ink in it, try to load it and see if the result is the same. Otherwise, you have to buy a new cartridge. Also, check if the print head is clogged with ink.

About the printer: Have you checked the print queue to make sure it's all ready to go, and the queue not 'offline'? If so, just reinstall the printer driver from newly downloaded sources (from the printer maker.)

You might need to go open up the Windows (and/or other firewall) so that Firefox is allowed to connect to the internet.

What kind of errors does the CD burner throw out? If it won't read the disk at all and the connections are fine, an interface might have gone bad, but more likely Windows (to hazard a guess) just has a wayward opinion of it. So open Device Manager and see if you can sway it; otherwise you're down to backing things up (or just moving the hard drive to an external USB mount) and reinstalling Windows or another OS on a new hard drive (given that drives aren't generally expensive.)

That iTunes behavior is pretty bad! I hope you found an antivirus and set it to work overnight at some point (less necessary if you reinstall, but ClamWin is free.) There was probably an easier fix in Apple's forums about that.

All those things are consistent with having run service packs from Microsoft, but then they could also be from serious issues. If you don't know what you did in those two months that might have set the thing off, and looking through Task Manager, and System Logs appropriate to your system doesn't offer a clue, you have arrived at reinstituting control over the system (likely by installing the OS anew, perhaps on a new drive/drives.) Running striped RAID on 2 new drives might bring a speedup that makes it worth it, if your motherboard supports that.
