Is the "cold air" just room temperature air. put it on cooling and see if its colder than the air that is coming out of it when its on heating leave it on for a few mins make sure its cooling to.. it could be the reversing valve not pulling it onto heating if it can cool and not heat.

if its not cooling or heating it could be a few different problems. gas leak ,pcb boards ect.

The 'cold air' seems to be room temperature air. The sun room is cold becuase it is cold outdoors. When I put it on colling it gets colder and I can hear he compressor (or something) kicking in. How could I verify it is he reversing valve and not something else?

if it is cooling correctly and you put it on heating and the compresser is not kicking in it is the reversing vavle it could also be the outside board board not telling it to heat.how old is the unit do u have warranty.

I am not sure of the exact age. It is older. It came with the home I bought in 2008. The home was built in 1987 and this room was added on after that. There is no warranty. It has the analog knobs instaed of the push button controls that the units have that Amana makes now.
I just checked again and It appears to be working or at least the air coming out right now is warmer than room temperature, but it is warmer outdoors here today. Could it be an intermittent problem?

Electric heater problems.

Plug in a ceramic 120 volt or oil type space heater to keep trailer warm. Most travel trailers are propane only, they do not have electric heat strips. I would bet that is why it only blows cold air.

Heater fan blows on windshield no matter what it is set for. Blows only cold air no heat?

sounds like a vaccum leak. the heater control doors inside the heater box are vaccum controled and a small crack in a vaccum hose under the hood will stop them from working.
