One of the twelve apostles. Wrote the two books of the Bible, First and Second Peter. See First Peter 1:1. Peter was given the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven by Jesus, which he shares in his sermon in the Book of Acts Chapter 2. Which starts in Acts 2:14, The keys are == Key # 1 Verse # 21 "All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved". Key # 2 verse 23 " He was crucified and slain". Key # 3, " God raised Him up". Key #4, That Jesus is both "Lord and Christ". Accordingly if we accept or believe these Keys (statements), we also have the Keys to Heaven and are saved and have the free gift of salvation from Hades. Thats a bit about Peter. He was Crucified upside down due to the fact he was "Not worthy to be crucified in like manor as Christ" Hope this helps.

Correction: **Bob is thrice as old as Peter.**

Let b be the current age of Bob, and p the current age of Peter.**Now, b=3p**

Six years earlier the relations was:**b-6=4*(p-6)=4p-24.**

Take the 6 to the right side leaving b=4p-18

Remember that now b=3p. Use it in the equation above

b=(3p)=4p-18, This becomes 3p=4p-18 or 0=p-18, and**p=18**

**Peter is 18 years old, and Bob is 3*18=54 years old.**

Verification: 6 years ago Peter was 12 years old and Bob 48 years old. 48/12=4.

Peter paid $12.

4/5x=48

Invert the fraction and multiply it to the 48.

48*5/4=60; 4/5=48, 5/5=60,

60-48=$12=1/5

Three unknowns with three equasions:

cindy is 5 years older than alex. write it as c = a + 5

cindy is 7 years older than peter. write it as c = p + 7

The sum of their ages is 21. write it as c + a + p = 21

first solve for peters age in terms of alex's age.

c = p + 7 or

(a + 5) = p + 7 or

p = (a + 5) - 7 or

p = a - 2

substitute in and solve the equasion:

(a + 5) + a + (a - 2) = 21 or

3a + 3 = 21 or

3a = 24 or

a = 8

c = a + 5 or

c = 8 + 5 = 13

c = p + 7 or

p = c - 7 or

p = 13 - 7 = 6

cindy is 13, alex is 8 and peter is 6

This is called simultaneous equasions and will always work if you have the same number of unknowns as you have equasions (or relationships).
