The installer you are trying to run is corrupted. Download (as in Save, not Run) a new one from a different location like
http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes_64/download/f96d5dbb7c9196910205d2946d9c0e56/
Wait for the download to be over, close the browser and go to where the installer is located - that location was determined by you when the download initiated. Once you find it right click on it and select Run As Administrator. This will start the install process.

This problem is not with the Itunes, but with the Windows Installer. If I am right, that Itunes install setup file must be a .msi file. This is a very common issue. If you've installed Winrar, try extracting the .msi (itunes setup file) and see if you could run the install after it's extracted.

You'll need to install or update the windows installer. But first, uninstall the installed windows installer from the Control Panel and run Automatic Updates (windows). Windows Automatic Update will search the available latest versions of windows installer and will download it for you.

Let me know if you have problem doing all these.

Oh... ok.. I was expecting that you do at least know how to uninstall programs from the Control Panel. Locate "Programs and Features" from the Control Panel, open it and locate the "Windows Installer....." and click it, then, Uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions. Once it's done, restart your computer.

    Ok... try this script command:

    "reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions /va /f"

Open command prompt (Start > Start Search (box) and type in cmd and press enter) copy the exact command and paste or retype it onto the command prompt (without quotes), when you are done, press enter, a message should pop up stating "The operation completed successfully" or if you see any error, make sure you run this command from the Administrators account or you have to Run As administrator.

Another hint: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt, right click command prompt and click "Run as administrator" and enter the same command.

Restart your computer and try installing.

The most important you have to do is, Windows Update. As you know, windows 7 readily comes packed with Windows isntaller 4.5 and 5.0, the only thing you can reinstall is through windows update.

Sorry for the late reply. I am unable to available 24 hours online and we are in different timezone. I hope you understand. The command will deactivate/delete an entry which disables the .msi files (executing .msi files) from running.

How do i stop my windows intaller trying to install symantec antivirus msi file

Step 1:
Stop Windows Installer From Popping Up b> The older a computer gets, the more junk it accumulates. A great number of computers out there don't start up without a thousand things popping up demanding your attention. Windows Installer is one of the more notorious pop-up offenders for Microsoft users. Stopping these pop-ups can prove challenging, however, there is a way.

On your computer's desktop, click on the "Start" tab, typically located on the bottom left of the screen (in Vista it may be the Windows symbol rather than the word "Start"). Now locate and click the program titled "Run." Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Once "Run" is open, type "MSCONFIG" into the empty box and click "OK." This will open the System Configuration Utility. With the System Configuration Utility open, select the tab labeled "Services." Scroll down the list of services (it may be beneficial to click the "service" column to sort the services alphabetically) until you find the "Windows Installer" program. Now click the check box beside the Windows Installer name and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the System Configuration. Congratulations, you have stopped "Windows Installer" from popping up!

I am trying to download iTunes onto my computer, but when I get to the end of the process where iTunes and QuickTime are to be installed it wont. A small box pops up saying "iTunes could not be...

Hi there!
There can be several reasons why you are getting this error message. First, make sure that your user account is an administrator account. If you are sure that your account is an admin, follow this steps:
1. Choose Run from the Start menu. type %Temp% and click OK. delete all files inside the temp directory 3. Click again on run from start menu. Type cmd and hit Enter. 3. Drag iTunesSetup.exe from the Desktop into the C:\\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe window. 4. Add a space and then this text: /extract %TEMP% 5. Press return/enter. This will extract three Windows installer packages into your TEMP directory. 6. Navigate back to your TEMP directory. 7. Launch the AppleSoftwareUpdate Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation. 8. Launch the QuickTime Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation. 9. Launch the iTunes Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation.
Please reply if this will not fix the problem. Cheers!

I am using Internet Explorer 8 and just recently, Windows Installer pops up only on random web pages that I open. I just click cancel and it finally goes away. I have Windows XP. Any suggestions?

You are getting this popup because of old or out-dated Windows installer program in your PC.

There are 2 solutions to get rid of this issue.

Solution 1

1. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "msiexec /unregister" ( without quotes ), then press "Enter" or Press OK. You will not see anything happen during this process.

Again

2. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "msiexec /regserver" (Without Quotes) then press "Enter" or Press OK button. You will not see anything happen during this process.

And then,

2. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "Services.msc" ( without Quotes ) and hit Enter key or Press OK.
Search for Windows Installer in the list. Double click and open the Windows Installer and under Start Type " Select Automatic " and click Apply and Click OK. Close the window

Now you can try to access Internet Explorer. If you still get the pop up message, You will have to Download and install the latest Windows Installer program from Microsoft Website

Windows Installer Download

Choose WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe - 3.2MB from the list to download and then install.
When you click on download button, It will prompt you to save or Run. Click Run.

Install and later restart the PC.

Regards,
Ron

I bought a mcafee total protection 2011 from amazon.com, but I am unable to get the cd download / install.

Depending on your system, you should insert your installation cd and it will either prompt you to run or a window should pop up. If the window pops up, click on open file. Another window should pop up with icons and files. You want to click on "auto run". It should then run and windows will pop up where you will choose to allow them to run. Let me know if this doesn't work at reply or add comment or, if you have another issue concerning this problem.

Can't install yahoo messenger

Step1 Close all other applications running on your computer, except your Internet browser. Step2 Go to the Yahoo website and click on the "Messenger" button on the right side of the page. Click on the button that says “Download Now.” This will take you to the download page. Step3 Read the instructions on the page, and then click the “Get Started” button. A download page will appear which may give you a choice of saving or running the program. You can save it to your Desktop and install it yourself or click run and let it automatically install and open the installation dialog box. Step4 Select the things you want to install. Yahoo! Messenger with Voice downloads Yahoo! Toolbar with Anti-Spy and Pop-Up Blocker and makes Yahoo your default search engine for Internet Explorer. If you use a web browser other than Internet Explorer, you may have to reset your preferences after you download Messenger. Step5 Click “Next” and read the installation dialog box when it pops up. Check the box when asked if you accept the License Agreement and Terms. It won’t install if you don’t check this box. Step6 Allow the program to install. At the end of installation, you’ll have the opportunity to personalize your Yahoo! Messenger with Voice through the Preferences section.

No disk

Hi destnlevi, please click on this link to open the site.
http://driverscollection.com/?file_id=36025
You'll have to type the letters (some in caps) & or numbers into the little box to get the download to start. If you have explorer set to block pop-ups you'll need to turn it off in order to get the download screen started. Create a folder on you're desktop & save the download into that folder. This should work for you.
Please un-install any other printer software that you might have already installed before attempting this install.

Good Luck!
