I just bought it and when i inserted batteries it did not turn on

Try this
Turn off phone
Remove battery
Wait 10 seconds
Plug in charger
Insert battery
Turn on phone

return it for an exchange.
Bang it or tap it....

Hey, same problem. Push and hold the hangup button. It will prompt to insert sim , but I only have one. The phone works. The website and the manual are useless. Just gotta play with it, I guess.

Return to seller as faulty goods

Remove the batteries. Remove the memory card.
Install batteries only, paying close attention to inserting correctly. (Possible one was put in wrong.)
Does it start?
Yes - Power off. Insert memory card. Power on. Does it work? Memory card may be defective. Try formatting it.

If cam does not power on, return it under warrenty for replacement or refund. Or warrenty repair..

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function. Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...try to turn it on. Let me know.

have same problem with canon sd10. bought new battery and new charger, THIS IS A CANON HARDWARE PROBLEM I assure you

Either the battery is not making proper contact in its chamber or a fuse is open.
