Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
Your magnetron has failed. The microwave will have to be removed off of the wall and disassembled, the magnetron is located on the right side behind the control unit. This is a pretty extensive repair if you haven't done it before. You can do it yourself or hire an appliance tech to do it for you. You can order a magnetron from http://allapplianceparts.com/magnetrons2.html and I would suggest getting the diode as well. You can look up the diagram on your microwave http://www.apdepot.com/index.asp and see how it comes apart.
