DVD/CD ROM is not working

When you place a disc in the drive can you hear the disc spin up, if not then the DVD drive maybe faulty.
Try re-seating the DVD drive and if it still does not work then it is faulty and needs replacing.

Note: when your input is a DVD disc, you will need to select the path to your source file: X:\Video_TS\Video_TS.IFO. "X" stands for your DVD-ROM or the hard disk drive folder where your DVD is stored. Please see the online help section to find more on burning DVDs to other video formats.

Step 3: Set up the conversion parameters
Click the To DVD button on the main panel. In the list of video disc types (Profile) select one of the preset profiles.

Click the Browse... button next to the Output File Name field and select a location on your HDD for the output video file.
Note: when you select a location for your output video file, you should save the file to your personal computer HDD.

Step 5: Create a menu for burning DVD
In case you convert your files into a DVD format, the program will let you create a DVD menu so that you could navigate through your disc easily using it. First of all you need to put the markers indicating the beginning of the chapters of your DVD menu. To do it switch into the editing mode using the Edit button on the AVS Video Converter main panel. The following window will be opened:

You can select the necessary disc drive if you have several, refresh it and mark the Verify disc check-box to make sure the disc is recorded correctly.

Now click the Start burning! button to begin the recording. Note, that if the disc is not empty you will be offered to erase it. If you do not want to do that, you can eject the disc and use another one instead.
After the burning dvd is over the disc will be ejected automatically. Note, if you checked the Verify disc, the recording will take a little longer depending on the size of the output files as the program will need time to verify them.
Now you can watch your recorded home video DVD on your Home DVD Player!

MY , CD/DVD LAPTOP DRIVER DOESN'T WORK. IT CAN

goto run and type "compmgmt.msc"(without quotes) and select disc management if the dvd drive is showing below the hard disks means your dvd drive is working fine only thing you have to do is to right click on the CD-Rom 0 and change drive letter and paths to it
.if the CD ROM option is not seen in disk management then you have to go to the device manager option under computer management and expand cd/dvd -rom drives and you will find your dvd drive model if not that means that your dvd drive has got hardware problem

Toshiba Satellite A200-1M4 When I start my laptop i can hear a long peep sound and my DVD ROM auto opening. My DVD ROM PC detect but It can not read the CD always showing inset the CD. Please help me in...

dvd burners or rom drive have 2 lens inside, one for DVD read, the other for cd read. I see it often where one fails out in the drive but the other works. With one working fine and the other not, I would replace the drive. If still under warranty send it to manufacturer. If not do a search on Ebay for a replacement drive, or get a local laptop repair shop to do it for you.

Dell Inspriron 700M- DvD drive plays audio on the dvd but not pic

To determine if you have a faulty LCD screen or a faulty video card, connect an external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first the the laptop. The video output should automatically switch to the external monitor. If you get a normal image then the video card is OK, and the fault is with the LCD screen.
If you still get a bad image, then the fault could be a faulty video card or video RAM. Most laptops use part of the main RAM module for video RAM, try reseating the RAM modules and or test the RAM modules. If the RAM is OK then the fault is the video card.
If you can determine the fault then I can possibly offer a solution.
