Hello

You'll have to reset the controls, to reset press and hold the END OF CYCLE button for 15seconds. This will hopefully get the washer to operate, please get back to me if you have any other questions.

It says CONTROL LOCKED.... how do I get it unlocked??

  • Press any of the buttons on the control panel to see if the buttons are operational or check to see if the "Control Locked" indicator light is lit. If the control panel is operational, you may mistakenly lock the door.

  • Press and hold the "End of Cycle Signal" button for approximately three seconds until the "Control Locked" indicator light shuts off. The control panel is now unlocked, and the washer is ready for use.

  • Lock the washer again by pressing and holding the "End of Cycle Signal" button until the "Control Locked" indicator light turns on.

Control locked light is on and cant get the washer to do anything

The Control Lock is a safety feature that enables the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent children from manipulating the controls and accidentally starting the appliance.

With the lock turned on, the control panel is disabled and you cannot use any of the controls, except the button to unlock it. It can inadvertently be set following a power outage, leaning against the control panel, or pressing and holding the wrong button. This is usually not an indication of a malfunction.

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured appliance (such as Kenmore Elite, Maytag Epic or Whirlpool Duet), the following link explains how to lock/unlock this feature:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608801-control_panel_lock

These instructions are also printed on the front panel of the appliance and in the owner's manual.

If this does not correct your problem, then you may have a more serious problem other than a simple operator control button issue (such as an operator console problem or main control board issue). Please post back and let me know if you need further assistance.

I just replaced the bellow on my duet GHW9200LW washer and after i reassmbled it the "control locked" light is lit and i cant start the washer

The Control Lock is actually a safety feature that allows the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. It can inadvertently be set by leaning against the panel, or following power interruptions due to brown outs and black outs. The following link explains how to turn the feature on/off:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r2469429-kenmore_elite_amp_whirlpool_duet

If this does not correct your problem, then you have more serious problems than a simple operator control issue. If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this corrects the problem for you.
