Welcome to Fixya.

Mouse not responding could mean that the driver is not installed in the laptop.

To check if it is installed go to Device Manager.

1. Go to your desktop, right click My Computer, and left click Properties.

2. Left click the Hardware tab and then left click the Device Manager button.

3. Click the plus sign right next to mouse to expand. Check if there is a yellow exclamation mark which indicates a driver problem.

4. If it is a driver problem, go to the manufacturer's website to get the latest driver.

If it is not a driver problem, try connecting the mouse to a different computer. Check if it will work. If it will not work, then it is a dead mouse.

Also check the cables if it shows any sign of wearing.

Your feedback will be much appreciated.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Toshiba touchpad doesnt respond after 2 minutes

This issue could be a few things. 1. Make sure your driver for the mouse and keyboard are updated. 2. The mouse pad may be going bad. 3. There may be an issue with the motherboard. I would recommend checking your driver first. Then replace the mouse pad. You can also pick up a wireless mouse and plug the usb that comes with it into a usb port if you are not comfortable tearing apart your laptop.

Hi, Ausus Laptop Gaming. Use to use Logitech wirelewss keyboard and mouse over 3 years no issue. Just today only the mouse stop working, change battery, restart comp., not even the laptop mousepad...

Make sure your mouse and keyboard are close to the receiver (the thing you plug into a usb port). Also make sure you plug the receiver into another usb port because maybe some of those ports are incompatible with the receiver or some ports may be failing. Last, make sure you install the driver (program that came on the cd for your equipment) on the computer.

Laptop pad not responding at all

Make sure that the drivers are installed for the pad. Also check and make sure the pad is turned on in the BIOS. You also need to make sure you have the software installed that allows you to toggle between the two.

Our touchpad is not responding to tapping. It

Go into the BIOS (F2). Press Alt-P until you reach "Page 4 of 7". Under "Pointing Device" change the setting from "PS/2-Touchpad" to "PS/2". Reboot.
The touchpad and point stick will still function as long as there isn't a mouse plugged into the PS/2 port. If the mouse is plugged in, it will override the integrated devices.

D630 docked , ext mouse & kybd not responding

If the docking station has power:

Make sure power is off for both the laptop and the docking station. Plug your keyboard and mouse into the docking station. Dock the D630 to the docking station and then power on docking station. This should then turn on your D630. Your D630 should detect the keyboard and mouse.

If the docking station has no power:

Verify that the power cord, AC adaptor, etc. is plugged in. If the items listed seem to be in order,
there may be a problem with the power going into the docking station. (AC adaptor?)

support.dell.com will have the specific details for your D630 and your docking station, et al.

Please let me know if you have success in this.
