Low flow would be the first thing to check. A clog in the hose, a leaf canister or pump basket that's full or a dirty filter.

Polaris vac doesnt reverse . which way is it supposd to be running, watr fow away from vac or towards vac?

When these pool cleaners are not reversing, there are several things that you need to check.
  1. Make sure that the back up valve is cycling (it should move in multiple directions).
  2. Check the wheel RPM and make sure that it is between 28-32.
  3. Make sure that the debris bag is empty.
  4. Check to see if the head float has water in it. If it does, replace it.
  5. Make sure that the feed hose is floating.

What model is it? Is it robotic (indepentdent of your pump and filter)? If it is attached to your pump system, it could be the cord getting tangled and causing the pool cleaner to move in circles. You might want to consider running it when you are available to watch it or getting a robotic cleaner that you can set to operate at certain times. You might just need to check the hose for defects that would cause it tangle.

Pool vac moves slow and to the right only

you may have some bad bearings on the turbine or the "A" frames. You have to take the unit apart from the bottom and inspect the bearings on both the "A" frames and the turbine itself. Make sure the shoes on each pod have a good amount of padding left, like 1/4". If you do have bad bearings, you can purchase a turbine kit with "A" frames that will come with all the parts you need to get it running like new.

Hi George It's your impellar or bearings you need some tools for the bearings but if it is impellar you can do this I would suggest you just take it in and rebuild hole thing as you will be better off in the long run.

Ray Vac moving slow, circles deep end, sticks on side of pool

I have the same problem and the best solution is to repair/replace the hydro timer kit. It has inner gears that are plastic and wear down and doesn't rotate through the cycle of water flo that changes it's direction. I'm in the process of exhaustive repair and I'm going to replace the hydro timer - (inside part only) and then see what happens. Moving the gears did change it's moving patterns tho.
