Question about Indesit Washing Machines
Look inside the drum with a torch placed flat against the steel drum holes. Look at the outlet area - for any stray sock or similar that's stuck.
Sometimes this can be fished out from the gap at the front by the seal with a straightened coathanger. If nothing there-
then continue -
If it is making noises when it should drain, then the area around the pump impellers has a blockage (fabric, bra wire or even a lot of money...well we hope, usually just wire.)
Somtimes you can see the problem when opening the filter to clean it.
If it is the type with no visable filter, You need to turn off power and water,And drain the tub by removing the back drain hose, and lowering it into a bowl on the floor.
Open the back (usually after removing the top, but not always), and look for a pipe leading from the tub base to a motorised pump.
Sometimes there is a filter / U trap just infront of the pump, sometimes it's straight into the pump.
Remove the clip on this hose, and remove (be ready to collect water in there)
You should be able to see the pump vanes - make sure they are free to turn. remove any obstructions. Check the pipe by feeling for any lumps in there, if so fish it out.
Replace clips and reassemble.
