Internet Light keeps blinking - all others are out - No internet

Don't get Internet
ISP failure
Restarted many times
Continues to blink just under Internet (green multiple times)
Will not connect
No problems with computer

    have the same problem. was working, suddenly the internet dropped. I believe my modem is not working properly. The PC Link and Internet lights are blinking and I'm getting nothing from the others. Nothing wrong with the pc.

    Exact the same problme. ISP doesn't know how to resolve the issue so sending a technian....

    Yes, I have the same thing. I have checked and rechecked the cables and connections. The icon at the bottom of the screen indicates that I am connected, as well as the indicator within Control Panel.

HI,

Blinking green internet light is normal BUT you must check if theres any dsl outage in your area..You can contact your ISP for that.

But then maybe you can try this:

Turn your PC off > then you modem or router.. after 60 secs turn your modem or router ON first then your PC and check if you can go online.

If you called your internet service provider {ISP} and no reported outage let me know and we'l solution for that.

A flashing internet light(all others off) indicates that the modem is searching for a signal from your ISP. Try rebooting the modem and if that doesnt do it replace the coax going to the modem. If you still dont have internet then go ahead and call your ISP as it could be a problem on their end.

@CluelessNYC: If you purchased a modem from a third party then you may need to register the MAC address with your ISP. Most cable providers tie your account to a specific MAC.

Have you contacted your ISP for support?

I would suspect that there is no communication between your modem and your ISP. Your ISP will be able to tell you if they can detect your modem, if so then there might be a problem with your modem.

If you unplugged the modem and you service hasn't restarted yet, you should contact your provider.

If you have your modem connected to a router, you should unplug it and plug it back in as well.

I have the same problem. My internet connection green light blinks. My internet was working fine with Time Warner RCA DCM425 model. Recently, I brought the same RCA DCM425 model on the internet and but it does not. Could it be RCA DCM425 was not a Time Warner competible or do I need to install a driver? Any suggestions?

I recently had the same problem. My connection used to come into the house then go through a three way splitter so that it could go to two TV's and a modem. I added a two way splitter that goes to the three way and to the modem. I no longer have any issues.

It could have been my three way splitter deteriorated so that it could no longer carry a strong enough signal to the modem or the additional split at that point weakened the signal to much, either way if you can cut the number of splits or the size of the cable to your modem it could solve your problem.

My old outdated emac wont connect to internet


A lot of people think its the computer when they can't connect to the internet. In reality it's most likely your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Check the lights on the front of the Cable modem or DSL modem. The "received" light is the one you need to worry about, if it blinking it's receiving data.
If you are not seeing any blinking light you will need to call your ISP for troubleshooting.
A lot of times they do maintenance and have disconnect everyone in the area.

The orange blinking light indicates that it cannot obtain the DNS server from your ISP (internet service provider). You must contact your ISP and check whether your service is active.

I have had problems connecting to internet all weekend (internet - red light), am on now but internet and ethernet green light keep blinking, is this ok.


No because dsl light should be solid green light. You need to contact your ISP to check if there is a problem on the network.

Only internet light is blinking


According to the user guide, the modem is trying to connect to the isp. If it is continually blinking, check all your cables. Once you are satisfied all cables are properly connect contact the isp to find out if there is an outage in your area and if not they can help you.

Cannot connect to internet. router modem and globe lights blinking amber.


If the modem light is blinking it means that there is activity, so this is normal.

However, the globe/internet light needs to be solid green. If it is blinking it means it is attempting to connect to the internet.

Make sure first that the internet connection is working when directly connected to the modem. If yes, then the router might not be configured properly. To check the configuration on the router, access the setup page by using a web browser. Type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.

By default the password should be left empty.

Once in the setup page of the router, go to Internet WAN. Select the connection that your ISP is using. Either, PPPOE (requires a username and password from ISP) or Dynamic, (the settings are obtained automatically from the ISP). If you are not sure, contact your ISP.

Westwall modem Internet is solid red light


If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.

If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.

To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.

Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.

Ethernet light blinks no Internet


Serveral soultions to try and they are at no cost to you. First, try re-booting the modem. Your modem stores cache just like a computer does, and it can build up on you. I myself unplug mine about once a week.. Two, in the control panel under Internet Opetion under browser history click on delete and confirm the delete, this will delete your temp. files. You might have exceeded the amount of cache allowed by windows. Finally make certain that you have ipx, and spx protocol installed on your comuter. If this doesn't help, I would get a new modem from your isp, more than likely it is bad. I know verizon modem are good for maximum of 2 years and average 1 year. I would recommend westell 6100 G moem and get a wireless router to go with.

Ethernet light keeps blinking


I think the light that blinks is the light that shows when you have a connection established to your ISP. Not sure if you have cable or ADSL but if the light is blinking then the router is Synchronising with the line card at the ISP/exchange end. If it continues to blink then no sync is occurring. If ADSL replace the microfilter and check that any devices atached to that line also have a microfilter between them and the socket. ALso try replace the phone cable to the microfilter to the socket. Finally you can see wether sync has occurred by looking in the log on the router

I ran an antivirus live update and restarted the computer. When the computer restarted, I had no internet connection. There are 3 blinking lights on my cable modem.I 've unplugged the modem and replugged...


go ahead and open the anticirus software and tehre you can find teh firewall ,please goahead and turn off the firewall and try to access the internet and if its not working means uninstall the antivirus software and check whethere you are able to access the internet.. or else go ahead and contact you internet service provider
