My camcorder keep saying reinsert cassette

Try reinserting a Brand new Cassette . If this dos`nt work take the battery out over night reinsert the battery with the Brand new cassette in it .if you used the recorder to play very much footage as a viewer it has over heated it . the sensor that sense`s a cassette is just a little out of place with a little skill and if you know what you are looking for you can put this back in possition!

Hi8 won't eject cassette

There is a broken plastic part inside the cassette and needs to be replaced. Mostly due to cassette tape improper position and camera jam (tape jam).

The cassette is stuck and the player will not eject it. when you turn it on it just makes a beeping noise.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the cassette compartment will not open or the tape is stuck and will not eject.

IMPORTANT: If your camcorder model has a RESET button, first try pressing this button. If there is no RESET button, or pressing the button does not resolve the issue, continue with the troubleshooting steps below.
  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery from the camera.
  3. Remove the AC power supply from the camera.
  4. Slide the power switch on the camera to the VTR , VCR or CAMERA mode for 15 seconds.
  5. Slide the power switch back to the OFF position.
  6. Connect the AC power supply to the camera.
  7. Attempt to open the cassette compartment.

Playback problems

try to open the cover and clean the video head with a clean piece of paper dampened with a little alcohol. place the paper on the head using your finger and slowly moved the drum. donot move the paper up or down just move the drum slowly. the symptom also indicate that the head had reach its peak point and need to be replace with a new one. good luck!
