Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Logitech MX 3200 Cordless Desktop and Mouse. We have just installed a new computer with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. The keyboard works fine while I am working in Microsoft Word, but when I change to Microsoft Office Outlook to send an e-mail message, the symbols on some of the keys do not appear as shown. Instead something else shows up. e.g. instead of the quotation mark and apostrophe, I get ” è” in lower case and “E” when I use the shift key, with the same accent on top of the letter. A few of the other keys do something different. Is there something I can do to change this? The language setting is U.S. NOT French.

check and make sure both windows Vista and office plus 2010 are both 32-bit system. If your windows vista is 32-bit and your office plus 2010 is 64-bit then the office won't install.
this is how your check if your computer is a 32-bit or 64-bit system

1. click start
2. look for my computer
3. right-click my computer
4. click PROPERTIES
5. from the properties window you will see if your vista is a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system.

for your MS OFFICE plus 2010 brows the cd and to determine if your office is a 32 bit or 64 bit
1. you should see x86= this is a 32 bit
2. x64 = this is a 64 bit

Can't get acer desktop to recognize logitech cordless mouse

Yes, you need to install the Logitech transmitter for your cordless mouse. The acer transmitter uses a different frequency. You could try pressing the connect button on both the existing transmitter and mouse but that's not likely to work with different manufacturers.

Microsoft office home and student 2007 25 digit key

Hello,

When you buy a new computer, quite frequently it will come with a trial version of MS Office installed. To get the 25-digit product key, you would need to buy the full version from microsoft.com or in any software store.

As a free alternative: OpenOffice is a free application which is 100% compatible with all MS Office applications. You can download this for free from www.openoffice.org.

Thanks for using the FixYa forums!

Push the connect button on the base - the light on the base should flash. Push the connect button on the keyboard. The light should stop flashing. (This is the generic Logitech way - individual models may vary slightly.)

Needwireless mouse software

Hi lanwood9,

Instead of creating another topic for the same problem you can reply to the clarification request that you've already received or continue reading.

Since you are still reading, you probably do not have a Microsoft or Mac wireless mouse as they would install automatically.

One trick you can use it that if your system is asking for your to supply the software on a "New Found Hardware" pop up box when you boot up to your Desktop then, select 'check on internet/online (or Windows Update)', this process usually works pretty good.

Otherwise, I believe I'm correct in concluding you have a Logitech wireless mouse. You can visit Logitech.com and they're cordless mouse software by clicking this link. Then, choose your OS and start the download, once it starts select RUN and it will install automatically.

If you find that this solution I have offered to you fixes your problem PLEASE click on the Fixed button below.

Thank you and if you have any further need for help please do not hesitate to Ask Me by clicking on my user name above.

Kind Regards,
Glenn

I got 2 logitech wireless mice in same desk, because I dont have anywhere else to place them, and they interference with each other...How can I change frequencies? Please help Thanks

This is in the logitech knowledge base.

Question: ''When I move my cordless mouse, it moves the cursor on the system next to me. What should I do?''

Answer: ''This is called ''Cross talk'' and is characterized by one cordless device controlling the cursor or keyboard input of another device connected to a different computer. To avoid possible interference, try to keep the distance between systems at least 10 feet. Also, moving the mouse closer or further away to the receiver can also improve transmission and performance. If the above fails, try pressing and holding the ''Connect'' button on the receiver for 10 seconds. This will reset the receiver's connection information and allow you to do a first time connection with the receiver and mouse or keyboard. After holding the Connect button for 10 seconds, then press the Connect/Channel button on the bottom of the mouse to synchronize it with the receiver. If you have a cordless keyboard instead of, or in addition to, a cordless mouse, press the ''Connect'' button of the receiver again, then press the ''Connect/Channel'' button on the Keyboard. Perform these same steps on any other Logitech cordless devices in the area that are experiencing cross talk. Another step that can be tried is to remove the batteries for 15 minutes. Then re-insert them and boot the computer up. It is important that during this time, you do not press the connect button on the receiver or keyboard of the other cordless desktop system.

I could not find anything on mouse crosstalk in the Microsoft knowledge base. Perhaps the problem is not so common for MS mice because of their more limited range.

Buying a new mouse was suggested. This may or may not work if you bought a new Logitech mouse, as it could wind up on the same troublesome frequency. Of course, if you replaced the Logitech mouse with a Microsoft mouse, their limited ranges might eleminate the problem, even if they used the same frequency.
