Question about Verbatim STORE-N-GO (95312) 8 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

I have a verbatim flash usb, the type that slides in and out. Simple question... should it stay temporarily locked when slid out for when inserting into usb drive? If I slide mine out then push to insert it just slides back into casing. The only way to push it in with the required force is to keep my thumb on the slide button. Is this normal? i would have expected no as it makes insertion into low usb drives on a laptop a bit fiddly.

This problem is not typical, as there is supposed to be two small plastic tabs that that slide into equally small indentations on the plastic that keep the drive out while in use. Normally the drive would slide out and lock, then, when you're done do push the drive back in. Appears to be defective or broken.

Remove write protection on a verbatim flash drive

Ok I finally got it. It was so simple -_- Just open the V-Safe100.exe and click on the pink Settings button on the bottom left. There's a slider where you can adjust the PRIVATEZONE size and type in your password twice to reformat. Just make sure you back everything up first!

If you accidentally deleted the V-Safe100.exe like I did, just go download it back from http://www.verbatim.com/index/support.php?lang_id=1&cat=14&action=supportitems&pid=5463

Ugh, this thing wasted 3 hours of my life. But i guess it saves buying a new usb without the write protection.

Hello my micro sd card is saying write protection is on, could you please telll me how to disable this, thanks.

There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.

If the lock switch is not on lock:
1. Slide the switch up and down. Repeat this 3 times.
2. Let it stay on the Lock position for 30 seconds.
3. Slide the switch up to unlock the card.
4. Try to transfer files into the device.
