There is no such thing as speaker driver, but more likely you have uninstalled the sound card driver or it got corrupted, that will be the first place to check. Please download the driver from your PC maker website and install it. You should also look at the devices manager to see if the sound card is present.

With each program you add, and is running, it requires power. (Like a car trunk full of heavy items will get less gas mileage.) Depending on your Acer Model and what is running, 2 hours may be good? Open the Power Options in Control Panel, adjust Battery Power options. Try to eliminate unnecessary running processes. Try freeware CCLEANER: This freeware program has many useful tools. The cleaner and registry will remove junk from your machine and free up HDD space. In the TOOLS section, select STARTUP, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, this will speed up starts and running. In the UNINSTALL remove unnecessary software/junkware. I have speakers plugged in but it says no speakers detected on my acer aspire AX3400

Go to device manager, navigate to sound devices and select uninstall.
From there select scan for hardware changes, or restart the computer and it should see your hardware. That should resolve the problem, if not make sure you are using the correct audio software as realtek software has been know to have such glitches, and if you are usig a third party then you may want to download the most recent version of the software via their website

When i play an mp3 it sounds like an echo and the lyrics are way in the background...the music is loud enough..and there is no sound when i use the headphones

You probably have some kind of surround effects enabled on the laptop. Go into the audio software, either acer e-audio or realtek. Look around in these and turn off or bypass any 'enhancements' or surround effects.probably best to uninstall acer e-audio if installed. It's unnecessary and you won't lose any audio functions. :)

Hope this helps!

No sound comes from in built speaker, but comes from headphone jack

This means that your sound card is working which is good news.
I would try and re-install the sound drivers first after uninstalling the existing one just in case.

Then if the problem persist, it could be a loose cable (e.g. speakers) somewhere inside your laptop which you need to open. I would then be careful if not familiar with opening hardware.

Have you got codecs installed on laptop, if so uninstall, some codecs has voice ac3 filter in that can speed up the sound so it might sound like bubble boy. Use different codec pack or audio filter. JJ
