Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I believe our brand new gelato case/ refrig was overcharged with 404A, if we vacuum out the 404A & moisture - re-weigh and put in the exact amount of freon the system asks for (15.5oz) - but we've blown our encapsulated head pressure controller switch, how can we jump/bypass the head pressure controller switch ?

Cant get it down far enough...11 degree temp, low pressure is 24.5,hi pressure is 275 been running for 4 hrs straight. This is a True three door freezer, about 4 yrs old ,has 404a refrigerant

If the unit is indoors, the pressures are not that bad. I would look for possible issues with air flow. Maybe heavy frost forming on evap. If not, then go to basics. Remove charge, replace filter/dryer, pull good vacuum, weigh in the charge. This usually eliminates most problems.

Continental Freezer model F2 404A refrigerant not cooling properly. Replaced cap tube, and filter drier, evacuated, and charged. Box temp not going below 32' and ice forming at beginning of evaporator....

Check the compressor efficiency. See if it will pump down. In most cases, a good compressor will pull down to about 15" vacuum. Also, be sure that the refrigerant amount was weighed in and not done by pressures only.

I replaced compressor for a hussman refrig and its hums loud

God day,
Some thoughts.
1. Are the evap fan motors running, and at full speed. That would give you abnormally low suction pressure.
2. Cap tube sized too small. or partial restriction in the dryer cap tube/dryer when brazing in the lines.
3. Low ambient. What's the temp the machine is running in.
4. Over sized compressor.
5. Moisture. God, 134A is touchy on that one.
6. Was original cap tube soldered to the suction line to create a heat exchanger. Needed on many apps. Definately would cause flash back on start up.
7. Superheat a little low, should be 12 to 15 degrees.

Condensation around refrig walls

Either the door gaskets are not sealing properly or the doors are not completely sealing. The moisture is from air entering the refrigerator and the moisture in the air condenses into water. Check your doors and gaskets for leaks or gaps.

Saniserve 707a margarita machine

The best thing to do would be to recover the 404a into a clean recovery jug, weighing how much you take out. Check the nameplate on back it will tell total ref charge. in either oz or lbs. then weigh the charge back into the unit. this is the best wayto verify if you have a proper charge. If the unit is low on charge then you will want to find and repair the leak as soon as possible.
