yes, i use to have a 52 inch rca that if i just hooked up the antenna to i got an hd signal where now i cant get any channels at all on this tv when i hook the antenna up. I get channels using my converter box but in 480. on my old one i had to switch to digital to pick the channels up on the tv but i dont see that option on this one. Any ideas?

you mean just not enabled for the antenna? because i hook up my xbox in hd and it works perfectly with a great picture. what would i use an sd hook up for or connect it to in order to get hd?

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

no it does not have an sd9 component for input/output. so i need a converter box that is s-video compatible to get hd? if so any idea where to get one of those?

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

i googled it and can't find one.

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

antenna rf in,tv rf out, then the standard red white and yellow video and audio outs.

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

also, when i use to get an hd picture it was without the box. it was by just attaching the same antenna i have now directly to the tv.(in case my previous statement was confusing) :)

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

    did you receive my response?

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

rf antenna in,rf tv out,and standard red white and yellow rf outs

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

okay, so all i need is this box and an hdmi cable then? and just connect the hdmi cord from this directly to the tv then and it will work? where does the antenna come into play then?

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

okay sorry, one last question, which ones on the new box do the red white and yellow go into? i see red, blue, green and a yellow on the back

  • mpic504 Nov 09, 2010

yeah i looked around for the connections but havent found anything yet. sounds good though. thanks again for your awesome help i appreciate it!

Let me make sure that I understood your question. You want to watch the signal coming from your antenna on your tv in HD? Please clarify the info so that I can tell you how to proceed.

That is because this tv is not HD enabled. You either use component or S-video. You cannot used HD on this one. I have just checked the specs once again to confirm.

You said you were using a digital converter. Does it take an SD9component) signal as input and output HD?

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Nov 09, 2010

Sorry I meant to say SD(component). Its not SD9. What inputs does the converter have and what outputs?

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Nov 09, 2010

Ok. In that case you are gonna need a component to HDMi converter. It costs you 90$

Yes. Antenna to your converter. Converter's component(White red yellow connector) out to this device's component input. HDMI out to tv's HDMI in.

You are welcome. I will post the link as soon as I locate one. If you are going to radioshack look for RF-HDMI converter as well. That should also do the trick.

Cant get mitsubishi ws-63313 to go into hd

Call Dish back. Your HD signal has to be configured in your dish receiver. They can configure it for you over the phone. If not, then the dish guy has to adjust the wires at the splice box wherever it's located in your house. HD requires a dual cable line from the dish to the splice block. It's not the TV.

I do not see any way unless you can outfit a connection to one of the rear inputs---this set was never designed for this type of use so aspect if connected would likely not be useable.

I have a tv model # WS-65315. I would like to know if I can hook up a Blueray player and still get HDMI quality?

No, your tv is strictly a Standard Definition one. Even it can receive a HD signal, it is downscaled internally to SD so the image would look exactly like from a low quality dvd player (that's because the internal converter is a cheap one) For best image quality use the converter from the BluRay and the Component connectors.

I would like to know if I can connect a HDMI cable from My tv model WS-65315 to a Direct TV HD receiver?

NO> If your TV supports and have HDMI connections and your HD receiver has an HDMI output then you should have no problem displaying Video. Just make sure you change the input signal of your television to HDMI input. After looking at the spec's of this model these are the following inputs you have. your best picture quaity would be to use componet cables instead, which can show full screen 1080i format, your television does not show at 1080p whis is what HDMI is known for.
Connectors
Rear Input Connectors S-Video x 2 - Component x 3 - Composite x 2 - DVI x 1 - RF x 2 - 1 x RS-232C - Audio (RCA) x 6

Front Input Connectors S-Video x 1 - Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1

Rear Output Connectors Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1 - RF x 1

Another good option is use to use a DVI to HMDI connector and hook it up this way. But note: you will have to use audio cables for the DVI input.

Mitsubishi WS-65315 plug in HD comp shows as 480i

Greetings,

In the input assignment menu make sure that the DTV (the only 1080 input on this tv) is set to Y/Pb/Pr and see if that fixes your issue with at least the HD-DVR.

BTW- the HDMI information "1080i HD can only be selected if TV has HDMI inputs". is not correct.

Hoe to set my tv to hd

You don't set your TV to HD, you connect an HD source to it via either a component input or HDMI or DVI connection. I fyour TV has its own HD tuner, then you'll need to connect a good antenna or cable system to it.
