If you open the window to your external hard drive you should be able to highlight the pictures you want to save, then left click and hold on the highlighted pics and drag them over to the external drive. Be sure to put them in a folder on the external drive.

Change boot cd rom bios

There are different methods for BIOS'es, but.........

Boot Order:

1) This method has it where you use the appropriate key (Down Arrow key?), and highlight the boot device you want, in the list.
Then you press the Enter key.
From there you use the appropriate Change value key, and move the boot device to the top of the Boot Order list.
(Page Up/Page Down, or +/- keys)

Then you press the Enter key again, and you are back to the main Boot Order menu.
Now press the appropriate key (Example - F6), and Save Changes.
Or there is a Y/N, or Yes/No to highlight, and then press the Enter key.

You MUST Save Changes, or it will be like you have done NOTHING at all.

2) This style has it where you highlight Boot Order, and then use the appropriate Change Value key, to move the boot order around.
For example you press the Change Value key, and after pressing enough times, the boot device you want will be at the top of the list.

The press the Enter key, and go through the procedure of Saving Changes.

The navigation guide is at the Bottom of each BIOS menu screen.
Does not state navigation guide, though.
Individual navigation comments are to the right side, for each submenu in Boot Order.

Read carefully, and see how to properly set HDD 0 / IDE 0, as the first boot device.

Siig sc-sat212-s4, stops boot when connected

While most computers are capable of starting up properly with external drives connected, from time to time the external drive can cause confusion during the startup process. The computer may attempt to boot from the external hard drive rather than the primary internal drive. This causes the computer to fail during startup because the external hard drive does not have the operating system installed on it.

Disconnect the external hard drive from the computer. In order to minimize the risk of damage to or loss of files on the external drive, shut down the computer if possible, or hold down the power button on the computer until the computer turns off and then disconnect the external hard drive. Restart the computer with the drive disconnected. If the computer still does not start up, it is possible that the computer is attempting to boot from the external drive. Reconnect the external drive and restart the computer. Watch the screen as the computer boots up. A prompt will appear indicating which key to press to enter "Setup" or the "BIOS." Press this key when the prompt appears. On many computers the key is either Delete ,F2 or F10. Use the keyboard of the computer to navigate the "Setup menu" that appears. (Advanced Bios Features.) The BIOS is AMI. Under ADVANCED SETUP:
The options listed for 1st,2nd ,3rd Boot device include:

IDE-0 means Pri master ?
IDE-1 means Pri slave ?

IDE-2 means Sec master ?
IDE-3 means Sec slave ? or using the arrow keys you can load failsafe or optimized defaults this will set the boot order. Highlight the option for "Boot Disk" or "Startup disk" and select the "C:/" or the primary internal hard drive. Press the associated key, labeled so on the bottom of the screen, to save the changes and restart the computer. This will allow the computer to boot from the appropriate drive. Hope it helps.

How to transfer picturers to another with external harddrive

There is no way to transfer content from one external to another without using a computer. There should also be no problems plugging in two external hard drives into one computer as long as there is enough USB 2.0 slots available.
Simply plug in both external drives into a computer, open one drive, highlight the files you want, press ctrl+c or right click and select copy and then open the second external drive and press ctrl+p or right click and press paste.

My hard drive is stuck in write protection so I cannot save to it even though I have more than 80% of the drive's memory still available. How do I fix this issue?

It is possible that it is the computer. Is this a business computer or home computer? Business sometimes protect against data theft by not allowing data to be saved to external drives.

Have you tried rebooting the system? I would suggest a full reboot including a power off.

Seagate external harddrive with windows 98 OS

Remove (or take to your local computer shop) the Win 98 hard drive from the computer.
Put this drive in an external USB drive enclosure.
Plug this enclosure into a Windows XP vintage computer.
Copy the data to this computer.

Save Win 98 drive for posterity!

When my Maxtor basic External Hard Drive is conected my PC won't boot up.

Verify in the BIOS setup (usually accessible by pressing F2, F12, or Del at boot), "Boot Device" submenu, that the system isn't programmed to also boot from an external device. If it is, it will try to boot off the Maxtor, but won't be able to since there's no OS there.
The system should be configured to start off the internal hard disk, and optionally the CD-ROM. Other options (ROM BIOS, PXE, USB, etc.) are usually best left deactivated or at lowest priority.
