Remove the ignition switch wire from the module. Set the module pole gap by turning the flywheel magnets under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the gaps, and loosen the module screws to allow the module to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws and turn the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close up at any point. Test for a blue, snappy spark at a fresh plug gapped 0.020". If nothing or very weak, replace the module. Hope this helps!

Echo cs-3400 wont start . no spark. what are the primary and secondary coil readings?

if you have no spark

check for faulty plug 1st, then pull kill wire off at kill switch, then check for grounding ht lead ,
then pull kill wire off at armature , if still no spark most likley faulty ignition armature
i suspect the part number you need if its type 1 is 15662639130
replace it and set air gap and reassemble and test

here is web site for parts

My chainsaw has no spark, I have checked the spark plug and it works on another unit, i guess it may be the ignition, ho0wever as it is a small coil I have no way of checking. can the coil be simply...

Yes the coil can be tested. you would need to know the proper specs but with a multimeter you should be able to get a resistance value from your plug wire to ground. With my experience 10000 - 30000 ohms should allow it to run. If this is no help one common thing is your kill switch. A wire should run from the coil to the switch, if this wire is shorted to ground it will not run.

Echo chain saw 16 inch will not start

You need to play about with the timing adjustment.
You can adjust the timing by two different methods.
The first is to adjust the space on the spark plug.
The other is to adjust the gap between the contact, and the coil/magneto.
There ya go, FixedYa !))
Don't forget to rate, thanks.
