Unless you know Solid State Electronics, there is nothing you can do. At best, You could unplug the TV, remove the back cover, slide out the Circuit board, and check the fuses. They will be at the front of the Circuit board, left hand side. But in all likelihood, it is not just the fuses, the Power Regulator STR would also be short circuited (happens often in SONY TVs) and so it is best that a professional technician have a look.

Since the you were vacuuming behind the set before this happened, I'm going to assume that you unplugged an input. Check the wiring, not just on the back of the set, but, on the back of the peripherals (DVD, Satelite, cable box, etc.) If wires are connected, then, take a component, such as a VCR or cable box and hook it up to the RF connector (AKA the cable connector) and run it on channel 3 or 4. If you have sound, then, you have a configuration problem and need to rewire your set. Hope this helps.

Sounds like horizonal output transistor could be over heating. There could be other problems. But I would start there. You can find the part number on the schematic inside the set. If you change it yourself don't forget to use the included insulater. Part should cost between 15 & 20 dollars. You will need make & model # of set at electronic parts store.
Diagrahm inside set will show you location of transistor.

SOURCE: ps3 wont show up on tv
Hey i just posted i have the same problem as you do but then I checked the SONY PS3 website and it solved my problem. Try resetting your video output. I'll paste what it says on the PS3 website but if that doesn't solve your problem go to the website. They have a bunch of troubleshooting solutions for this problem...
If while manually changing the Video Output Settings, the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, you may need to perform the following steps to reset the Video Output Settings.
