How to change brushes on hitachi c18dl

The brushes on your saw motor (Hitachi part number 324-572) are not replaceable. That is to say, Hitachi does not sell them as a seperate part, they are built into/part of the motor.

I'm trying to decide on a circular saw for my husband's birthday. I'd prefer a cordless with a lithium ion battery, but need to keep my budged under $200 if possible. What brands/models would you...

We can only assume that this circular saw would be used for small projects. Some tools are a perfect marriage for batteries but the circular saw would not be one of these. Cutting a large sheet of plywood and having it slow down or stop completely in the middle of the cut is both a nuisance as well as a safety hazard. If you have already taken these issues into consideration, then the choices are quite Dewalt, Hitachi,Milwaukee, are starting points. I would stick with the 18 Volt series though.

Circular saw Safety question

Circular saws, like other power tools, can cause serious injuries if they are not used properly. Familiarize yourself with the owner's manual before attempting your first project. Make sure you are wearing safety glasses to protect your eyes from flying debris and ear protection to guard against hearing damage caused by the noise of the motor.
